Plain/Hill/Mountain makes sense as a triad, and has no rude obscene connotations that I am aware of (an important consideration when using a foreign language).
However, my first thought was actually that the proposed naming appears to tie the Locus tiers rather strongly to the intended usage. If I walk or ride mainly in the plain, do I want the Plain version? Maybe it has no contour lines? Maybe the Hill version stops working above 1000m and the maps disappear in mist?

I totally agree.

I know that free, base, advanced are less fun names, but they better describe the version of locus.
sleeping bag, camping tent, resort, just kidding.  :D

I've purchased the pro version.
Is it possible to import JPG / PDF as an overlay map?
Thanks

you can use the "image calibration tool" in locus to georeference any JPG / JPEG to create a referenced map. it outputs a KMZ (google keyhole zipped) file that locus, google maps, google earth, etc can read and display as an overlay.

the process that locus uses to create KMZ's is really really good.

here's an old video i did to show folks how to do it. you may want to pause/rewind it a few times to get the concept down.

Without zoom buttons I cannot zoom with one finger. The zoom buttons above the map are not very nice. Why can't the zoom buttons be in the bottom bar as before? For me, this is a worsening improvement.

So short (5-10 minutes) poll for those of you, interest in future of Locus Map: https://forms.gle/ro1xvZoRjwqTnXCP9 .
A pity there is no option in the poll for zoom buttons positioned as currently along the bottom of screen; when cycling I rest of my hand on the bottom of the phone to stabilize, so having those buttons close to other buttons as proposed increases the risk of tapping the wrong button.

Each question could have an extra text box so the user can provide further comments (as above). Maybe too much information?

With the two-finger zoom now default in any app I don't think the zoom buttons are needed except in particular use cases.

Disagree totally, sorry.

Two-finger zoom is a pain in the butt!  So is finding the hardware buttons.

If the on-screen zoom buttons ever disappear, I'll use an old version of the app in perpetuity.

Few facts

- LoMaps are not made primarily for an income. Their cost is computed based on hosting and distribution prices + small provision.
- because of this, we do not push users to download/purchase them. They serve as an easy way to get usable maps
- their pricing system is wrong, we know it and it will be changed in Locus Map 4 (not yet 100% decided how)
- offline search works well, but it is based on steps from city > street, not always usable. Current LoPoints are terrible (planned rework during Q2/2020). So I really do not think, that address & points have major effect that LoMaps are used.
- the problem I see is mainly that we did not yet open-sources our tools for creating points and addresses. Which I want to do, just time and priorities complicate it.
Howgh ...
