I'll make changes to this, maybe a pattern, other border, different color, will see.

I can add a border around protected areas, but that will also result in some unwanted lines (renderer problem).

Hmm. It looks different on my LM4, see attachments. On my smartphone, this overlay is already barely visible in forest areas.

OK, then try the attached one.

Ah... is LM3 able to use Mapsforge V4+ maps? Do you use OAM maps?

Sorry, Dont't know. I only use the latest OAM maps (V5).
Both LM3 and LM4 can use the latest OAM maps. Obviously you get a better result with a theme designed for OAM.
Both LM3 and LM4 can display the latest Lomaps, using the same renderer and themes as for OAM maps, though once again you get best results with a theme designed for Lomaps or for both OAM maps and Lomaps.
Both LM3 and LM4 can display older Lomaps with Locus's own renderer. Themes have to be designed for older Lomaps or they won't show on the theme selector.

The OAM background from ZL 8 up now is rendered from the March 2023 (Europe: April)edition of Christian's OAM vector maps.

The base theme is now Tobias' current Elevate version 5.2, with my adjustments. The most obvious changes versus the earlier OAM world maps are:
- road numbers have a more intense colour  for better readability
- normal peaks (i.e. beyond the highlighted ones) have a better readability and the letters have a brownish colour to distinguish them from settlements
- volcanos have a dark red marker and letters for easier recognition versus normal peaks

In ZL 13 only 50m contours are shown, because with the finer lines the respective map parts were hardly readable. In adition it saves a total of 8 GB across all maps :-)

Enjoy!
Cheers
Michael

Du kannst in den Presets/Voreinstellungen auch ein Dashboard definieren
Ich zeige z.B. für das Geocaching Preset "GC" in der Karte links oben an

Locus Map / Re: [APP] - version 4.14.+ ( 1/2023 )
February 21, 2023, 14:55:26
Quote from: freischneider on February 21, 2023, 12:41:47I think they are exaggerating a bit here. Why do they always have the screen on ? Normally they are hiking or biking and look at the path. On Locus you look only if you need information. So the screen can stay off 70% of the time.
Yes, I agree, but everyone uses his device as he sees fit, in my case:
I start recording with Locus and only use the phone to take pictures or at crossroads when I have to choose which way to go, so during any excursion Locus is only active for a few minutes.
I prefer to turn it on for a few seconds and thanks to the high contrast of the icons I can see all the details even in full light, changing these settings in my case would be worse.
The copyright symbol could be less shiny (it's only there as a requirement) and that wouldn't be a problem, but the other icons the way I use them shouldn't be changed.

In addition, the displays have timers that first reduce the brightness and then turn off the display to avoid this type of problem, just set a timer that suits your needs.

Perhaps the problem arises for those who use Locus as a navigator in the car and want to leave it always active. If this is the problem, it would be useful to tie the brightness of the icons to a profile for example for use in the car.

The new version of Tiramisu 4.3 is uploaded in the first post. Make the best use of it. For OAM V5. Some inaccuracies have been corrected.

2 Saturo:
OAM maps do not have data with the bird_hide tag. But you can ask the creator to include it in the maps. Not likely, he adds reluctantly, but you might be able to convince him.
There are similar objects:
amenity=hunting_stand - An open or enclosed platform used by hunters to place themselves at an elevated height above the terrain
man_made=tower + tower:type=observation - Observation tower
They are in Tiramisu.

Nochmal eine Frage zum Locus-Webplaner (https://web.locusmap.app/de/):
Gibt es dort im Routingprofil Auto keine Einstellung für Autobahn vermeiden (so, wie in der App)?
Nein.
