I went thousands of kilometers in eastern Europe with RAM-Mounts. Cradle is the RAM Mount Quick-Grip XL. Because of the 2-ball construction and the inner arm, the mount kills some of the vibrations.

For my Doogee V20 Android rugged phone with QI-charging I stripped a Car Phone QI Charging Pad. However, you can buy a ready to go holder, if you don´t want to DIY.

Das ist aber erst seit Locus 4 so. Die Jahre davor mit Locus 3 waren absolut problemlos.

Warum nutzt Du dann denn nicht einfach weiterhin Locus 3?

Habe ich probiert als ein Urlaub anstand und LM4 das Memory-Leak-Problem hatte. Leider trat das auch unter LM3 auf. Also gleich 2 Versionen unbenutzbar für meine Zwecke.

Also ich habe Locus seit dem Mist mit dem Memory Leak nicht mehr benutzt. Soll ja wohl behoben sein. Ich wollte es auch testen, weil ich Locus eigentlich super finde. Garmin ist definitiv keine Alternative.

Aber irgendwie drängt es mich nicht mehr. Zuviele Fehler, zuviele (für mich) seltsame und unnötige Entwicklungen. Die Begeisterung ist mittlerweile eher gering.

Irgendwie habe ich mittlerweile das Gefühl, auch mit Locus trotz seiner unbestrittenen Vorteile auf das falsche Pferd gesetzt zu haben. Momentan behelfe ich mir mit mehreren Programmen als Alternative, die jedes für sich nur einen Teilbereich dessen abdecken, was Locus in Gänze abdecken kann. Oder könnte, wenn es denn zuverlässig liefe.

Mit den Ansagen habe ich so gelöst. Ist eventuell bereits in den Experten Einstellungen. Die waren früher alle in der confic.

Wow! Thanks. I will give it a try. Was really unhappy with the perspective to leave my preferred navigation app. Especially as Locus was the final reason to give Garmin the final kick...

Osmand has it´s positives sides, but I can´t get really used to it.

Ich finde Outdoorhandys mit einem Zusatz-Hardwarebutton praktisch. Da kann man dann z.B. in Locus die Displaysperre drauf konfigurieren. Nützlich bei Regen.

Ich hatte immer die Neuberechnung auf "aus". Bei gewolltem oder ungewolltem Verlassen der geplanten Route bin ich dann meist auf Sicht weitergefahren, bis ich die ursprüngliche Route wieder erreichte. Leider habe auch ich feststellen müssen, dass je nach Locus-Version (3 oder 4 egal) das Wiedereinbuchen auf die ursprüngliche Route mal weniger oder auch recht lange brauchte.
Und es lag definitiv an der jeweiligen Version, da ich an meinen Einstellungen nix geändert hatte.

...aber Zeit ist endlich.

Locus war schon immer Grütze was POI angeht. Wenn ich nen POI suche, nehme ich Osmand.

Ok, for this year I get rid of this useless application called Locus. Going back to Osmand. However I hope you will fix this problem. Looking back here in 1 year. Have a cup of coffee for the wasted money I spend for "Gold". "Gold" - LOL.

New Beta just published and the issue that caused memory problems on my own device should be fixed now!

This version is ever more worse than before. Crashes every 1h! Tried to disable hillshading, but nothing changed.

@Menion: I am on a 3 weeks motorcycle trip and I am willing to test new beta versions day by day. It is really not satisfying to stop every hour to get this app running again, but if you want - you have got a beta tester for the next weeks.

I really want to get Locus running for my needs. It is my favorite navigation app, espacially because of it´s database. And I don´t understand why things have become such worse since LM3.

Bedienung am PC: Android-Emulator.

I am sorry that I was not able to test this in the mean time. Will give it a try in my 3 weeks motorcycle trip in june. First day will be more than 8h of riding - this should be a good test.
