Hi guys,
hmm, I'm unable to simulate it. LoMaps + internal theme ... simply search for an address and when map moves with animation to found place, this (your screenshot) is the result, right?
Yes, that's correct. LoMaps with bike+hike theme. Also Open AndroMaps with bike+hike theme. I've seen problem with both.
Any map set as overlay?
No, no overlay map.

Locus Pro 3.38.3 on Pixel 2 with latest June 2019 Android 9. When I do a search for a place in Locus, and then tap on the search result that I want, to position the map at that location, I frequently see square or rectangular blank areas on the map screen - they're not completely blank, they show a grid of light grey lines on a white background. See attached screenshot.

I can always get rid of the blanks by zooming in/out or out/in, and once I've got rid of them I can pan around and zoom in or out without the problem happening again. I've seen the problem both with LoMaps and with OpenAndroMaps. The problem doesn't happen every time I search, but often enough to be annoying.

Locus Map Pro 3.38.3 on a Pixel 2 running latest June 2019 update of Android 9. After buying and downloading a map, I press the back arrow at top left, but when I get back to the screen I've taken a screenshot of below, pressing the back arrow merely reloads the same screen. I've noticed this problem several times now. The only way to get back to the map screen is to use the Android overview button to view all running apps, terminate Locus from there, and then start it again.

Troubles & Questions / Re: Queued map updates download twice

Well, I removed three of the maps and downloaded them again, which meant that two of them were queued, and didn't get the same problem. This time the maps only appeared once in the queue and only downloaded once.

I wasn't doing anything unusual. I've used the same procedure in the past when map updates were available, queuing the downloads. If I delete the maps from Locus to try to repeat the problem, won't I have to purchase them again to download them again?

Troubles & Questions / Queued map updates download twice
« on: November 24, 2018, 21:08:59 »
I noticed today that map updates were available, so I downloaded the updates for the various Australian states and territories. Downloads that I initiated and waited for them to complete before starting the next were fine, but when I queued the remaining downloads, I noticed that they each appeared twice in the list of ongoing downloads, and they did each download twice. I definitely did *not* select each update twice when checking for updates. See screenshot below from the ongoing downloads screen. This is Locus Map Pro 3.34.1 on a Pixel 2 running Android 9.

Thanks. That got me what I wanted.

I had already ticked the "update elevation" box when importing the gpx, but how do I see the elevation profile for the route once it has been imported? I can't see any option to get it to display.

Troubles & Questions / Show elevation profile for imported gpx track?
« on: September 16, 2018, 21:04:01 »
I have Locus Map Pro 3.32.2 with Brouter as the navigation data source on a Pixel 2 running Android Pie. When I get Brouter to generate a route, it shows the expected total ascent for the route, but when I import the Brouter gpx into Locus, is it possible to get Locus to show me an elevation profile for the route?

I found a message here from a few years ago saying that a swipe up from the bottom of the screen would do this, but on Android Pie that action is used for app switching, and that's what happens when I swipe up.

Themes - Vector maps / Removing unused external themes
« on: January 14, 2018, 11:13:54 »
I've installed a number of external map themes to see what they're like, using the quick install method. How do I get rid of the ones that I don't want? There doesn't seem to be any way within Locus to delete them. The themes seem to be all stored under the /Locus/mapsVector/_themes folder on the phone, with a separate sub-folder for each theme. Is it just a matter of deleting the folder(s) for the theme(s) that I don't want?

For mounting a phone on the handlebars, I'd recommend Quadlock. I use their universal fit mount (stuck to the back of the phone case) plus their out front mount on the bike.

I have a Sony Z5 compact that claims to be waterproof (IP68 rating). I've never had it out in more than light rain, but it survived that on the handlebars without problem.

Troubles & Questions / Re: OpenAndroMaps not showing up under maps

Yes, I think you're right - I tapped on the download button rather than tapping on the + symbol and then tapping on "Android install on Locus". I just tried installing The Azores (small download) and it was successful, placing the map in the Locus/mapsVector folder.

The problem isn't lack of space. The phone is a Google Pixel 128Gb with about 82Gb still free, and it doesn't have an SD card slot. I can download/update Locus store maps on the phone without any problem. I did a search with Astro file manager on the phone and couldn't find either the downloaded zip files or the France map files anywhere.

I downloaded the maps on the PC, and copied them to the Locus/mapsVector/europe folder on the phone, and they were then visible in Locus. But that doesn't explain why the download on the phone appeared to work but the maps were not there.

Troubles & Questions / OpenAndroMaps not showing up under maps
« on: December 10, 2017, 02:32:08 »
I downloaded the OpenAndroMap France North and France South maps within Locus on my phone by tapping on the Download link in the web browser on and choosing to open the link with Locus. The downloads appeared to complete successfully, but the maps don't appear to be there. When I zoom in on France beyond being able to see about half the country on the screen, the map just goes blank, and when I look in Locus under menu / Maps / offline, the France maps don't appear there.

For each download a message appeared on the phone screen at the end of the download:

I wasn't sure what this meant but I answered Yes each time. Any suggestions on what has happened?

Troubles & Questions / Export brouter0.gpx how?
« on: May 31, 2017, 05:29:23 »
I'm using BRouter from within Locus to create routes using from / to / via1 etc, which results in BRouter creating a brouter0.gpx in the /Locus/mapitems folder. Is there any way from within Locus to export this file with a more meaningful name so I can then copy it to a dedicated GPS? When I view the gpx file by selecting Map items from the Locus menu, this is what I see - there doesn't appear to be any option to export the file. This is Locus Map Pro 3.23.2 on a Google Pixel running Android 7.1.2.
