So could this mean that offline search for addresses might be coming to Locus after all?  

Even if not, vectorized maps would in itself be a fantastic addition, and it would bring Locus one step closer to be the one-stop map app for Android. The development of Locus is a joy to follow, as substantial progress seems to be made almost every single day. Great, great work!

First of all thank you for the great software that is Locus. I am thoroughly impressed with both the apps and the features, and with geonames support, it got even better.

However, I would like to express my wish for an offline search for street names and/or addresses in the downloaded maps. I do not know if this is even possible to add in without too much hassle or excessive search times, but I would like to hear your input nonetheless. It would truly be an awesome feature for someone who tends to not find his way around like myself
