Thank you for your reply. I tried to upgrade to Locus 4 again via Locus Classic but failed. I encountered the same 11556 error, which makes the app completely unusable. It seems that I have to uninstall it and the app data can't be retained during uninstallation.
I have also upgraded to a Silver Premium.

I have a huge number of points and tracks, and I'm not sure if that's the reason.

Since Locus 4 will continue to be upgraded, while classic may stop being updated altogether, I estimate that this problem may persist for a long time. Furthermore, each user's data and custom directories may be completely different, especially since different mobile phones and system software versions are also different.

So, could you provide a guide on manually transferring this data? Because it's been used for so long, I don't even fully remember what data and personal settings I have; I only remember some of my most important data, which includes at least:
1, points
2, tracks
3, Calibrated maps etc, include all Map items( In Locus 4, it seems that Map items are no longer available?)
4, I also have my own online map configuration file, and I don't know if Locus 4 supports it directly.
5, I also downloaded global altitude data.
6, There are also several huge offline map files.

So, could you please provide a manual transfer guide? Many thanks.

btw, I found that OsmAnd can almost freely search local map data, a feature not supported in the classic version. Also, OsmAnd's local data processing seems to be very fast. I look forward to these details being improved in the future.

I'm encountering the same 11556 issue. Even after installing the latest version 4.33.0, I'm still getting error 11556, and the software won't start at all. Since I don't have any data in the new software yet, I've opted to uninstall and reinstall it.

My next question is:
1,How do I manually import all the data from my previous/classic version step by step? My previous versions included many points, tracks, calibrated maps, some map items and online tile map configuration files that I created myself.
2,Are the features mentioned in the previous point supported in the free version? Or do I have to subscribe first? Of course, I actually bought the classic version in the past.

Quote from: Menion on January 27, 2023, 08:24:47Hi guys, interesting discussion. I've moved it to "Free chat" category where it belongs I believe :)

Anyway, are there any serious advantages of the OsmAnd compared to Locus Map? Some time ago, OsmAnd was made mainly for navigation and nothing more. Over years, both apps have more and more in common, but both do things in different ways.

But because I've never used OsmAnd (what a surprise  :) ), I'll be interested in the major advantage you see in it, thanks.

I also used OruxMaps earlier. After a period of time, I discovered Locus. After that, I discovered OsmAnd.

I think these three softwares are professional standards. This is compared to the Map App used by ordinary people such as Google Map.

When I found Locus, I quickly gave up OruxMaps( If the OruxMap person sees it, I must say sorry.).

Osmand's advantage I think is the map data itself. It includes too many map data I like, such as global depth data.

The advantage of Locus is the management of geographical data. The current map is really weak, so Locus can easily switch different maps.

Such as:
https://help.locusmap.eu/topic/30589-today-the-offline-search-feature-still-seems-to-be-in-early-beta ;D  ;D  ;D ;)  ;)

But OsmAnd does not directly support image map calibration. This is a pity.
And OsmAnd's processing speed of offline maps seems much faster. Locus seems to be significantly slow.

Locus and OsmAnd are all my favorite, I don't know if there are better apps.

Thank you for your great work!

Quote from: Saturo on January 26, 2023, 21:40:56I use osmand for everything exept geocaching.
If osmand would support this too, I wouldn't use locus anymore.

Osmland seems to support cached maps:
Menu -> Download maps -> Local,
The first thing you can see is Standard maps( vector)
Keep scrolling down and you will see: Online and cached tile maps
Sorry, this forum doesn't seem to be able to post pictures?

Of course, its cache map is actually not fully understood by me.
I still use Locus, but Osmand has some advantages that I like, for example, global ocean depth.

Thanks.

Quote from: ThomasD. on January 26, 2023, 18:11:52I started Android navigation on my motorcycle with Osmand, but switched to Locus Map after 1 year. Reason was the Locus database and the better route planner. Never used Osmand again.
The only situation where I don“t use Locus is car navigation with simple A-B routing. There I use Magic Earth.

May I know which version of Locus you are currently using? LM3 or 4 ?
Thanks.

In addition to Locus and OsmAnd, is there an more excellent app? ;D
Can we discuss this issue? ;D  ;D

I have used this mobile phone for about 5 years. I hardly used s pen before. I also feel that since I can use my fingers, why should I use it?
However, about a few months ago, I started trying to use it.

I finally found its excellence, and now I like it as much as I like locus. ;)

Several advantages:
1, You can operate your mobile phone with gloves in the cold winter.
2, When you are on the phone, you may need to record some words.
And usually you don't have a pen and you also need paper.
3, It is more precise than the resolution of the finger and can also draw.
4, You can write down your thoughts or draw your thoughts at any time.
The mobile phone doesn't need to be unlocked, you can write or draw by pulling out s pen.

Aha, I already like it. You should try. I'm not an employee of Samsung! ;D

I'm not sure if there was this trouble before. Maybe not, because I often use Locus Map Classic.
After upgrading to 3.60.1 today, I found this problem almost immediately.

You can reproduce it this way:
1, Enter the search in tracks dialog box;
2, Click all folders to expand all folders;
3, Then you use s pen to slide down, then leave the screen, and then click slide down.
I believe you can find the abnormality now. Every time s pen touches the screen, the progress bar will automatically set to the top, which makes it almost impossible to use s pen, but the operation with your fingers is normal.

Many thanks. FYI.

Wow, thank you very much. That's it. Now I can do it. Great!

I just upgraded to 3.60.1 today, and found a small bug that only appears in S Pen.
I am confirming that I will tell you! Great App, many thanks!

I confirm that I accidentally zoomed in with s pen. When zooming in, a very thin line will appear in the map, but I don't know how to repeat it.

I seem to have reproduced this function more than once.

How is this function implemented? How to operate?

Many thanks.

Many thanks again for your help.
I looked at them carefully. They didn't seem to include enough fine boundary data. I didn't find.
What a pity. I even found a website for the boundary from OSM:
https://osm-boundaries.com/Map

Do you work for Locus app? This app is really professional. Thank you.

You can try the attached. Use in the same way as the contours files.
(If you are using Tapatalk app, use the link rather than the attachment)
https://kmu.files.cnow.at/s/xYbQ8XQtKKjypsW

Many many thanks. However, it seems that there are only administrative boundaries at the state level, and none at the lower level. The OSM is actually very complete. And thank you for letting me know tapatalk.

Many thanks again.

You can try these contours-only themes. Select an offline map as overlay, either a LoMap or one from OpenAndroMaps, and then select the appropriate Contours theme. You'll need to use srcatop, I think, as the blending type.

Can "Contours MF.xml" and "Contours LE.xml" be merged into one theme profile?
I have viewed their content, and there seems to have no obvious selective parameters.
However, LoMaps always shows only Contours LE, while OpenAndroMaps is only valid for Contours MF.

Why?
Why can two maps correspond to a Themes profile respectively, but there seems to be no parameters for identification two maps?

Many thanks!

Do you have a map with administrative boundaries that you want to use as an overlay?

Sent from my moto g(6) plus using Tapatalk

Many thanks.
Administrative boundaries are available on open maps.
Such as:
https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=16/49.9832/14.4761
https://www.openandromaps.org/en/downloads
So I speculate that both LoMaps and OpenAndroMaps should be supported, but I don't know how to activate it? I also don't know how to make a theme profile like contour lines alone?

Especially openstreet, its administrative boundaries are quite accurate and complete.
Because I have been using openstreet class map for a long time, I have observed its accuracy and completeness.
So I think the data of administrative boundaries is very complete.

Is it possible to make a separate overlay?

Many thanks!

Many thanks again for your help. May I ask a new question?
I want to overlay administrative boundaries on the map. How do I do that?
Sorry, I also start a new topic:
https://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=7912.msg67548#msg67548

Do you think it's possible? Sorry, I don't know more about map configuration, so I can't seem to complete this function.

Could you please help me ? Many thanks!
