Hi guys,

As we know sea water bodies are missing but also beautiful creamy f4f3e9 colour.

I'm not sure about the Themes names, you are trying something new but for me Spring and Autumn is missing ;P
Be aware as only small part of the world has snow during a winter (also there is no snowing over there some years).
When I have purchased Locus Pro it was clear, I'm going e.g. to Italy for skiing and that Theme shows me pistes, clear, makes sense.
Winter name is misleading now, especially Summer one. ;)

Church icon looks like female upside down.  ;D

Main roads are much thinner so hard to recognize hierarchy.

Anyway I'm sure work is in progress so it will look stunning soon!

Thank you also for your suggestion about United K., I'll move Jersey and Isle of Man into United Kingdom folder.
The performance - this is more on menion, but he's couple days off.

I have to apologize you guys, Isle of Man and Jersey actually were placed good separately in Locus Store :P
Isle of Man are dependencies of the Crown and are not part of the UK. Sorry again.

BTW it would be nice to have a nice English, Welsh etc. flags in .map files respectively, using Smart Choice menu.

Hi,

Just updated my Locus Pro and my England map name changed into United Kingdom which is wrong.

Similar mistakes were and still are in Locus Store in naming United Kingdom countries.
Great Britain is only England, Scotland and Wales no more.
United Kingdom Includes England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, also Isle of Man, Jersey, which all should me in the United Kingdom folder.
If Isle of Man and Jersey are as separate maps with flags, England, Scotland and Wales would have use their own flags instead of Union Jack of United Kingdom.

Or maybe one map of United Kingdom might be better idea.

Also Canary Island would use their own flag as it's sold separately from Spain.

Last night my Galaxy S5 updated to Android 6.0 and found some problems with SD card, rendering of maps is pretty slow, where can I find any help about that issue?

Thank you.

@kona
thank you for explanation. We've changed the generation process so in the next version of DB files should be improved

Hi Voldapet,

I have checked London and it works but I think because of the boroughs it's really hard task to find any of the street in London if you do not know the borough.

Basically now if you are looking for any of the street in London there is no such City in 'city' to pick up (which can give results).
So you have to know the borough name, for instance Sutton and choose the street now. (Also no all boroughs available in db, seems like)

England>Sutton>Albion Road, Bingo! We found it, but there is London, or how somebody should know as that street is in Sutton borough in London?

Let me show that in Czech equivalent.

Česká republika>Správní obvod Praha 13>Buharova
I'm sure we prefer this one:
Česká republika>Praha>Buharova ;)

I can imagine as putting all London streets from all 33 boroughs into one bag called London is a lot of work and also complicated as it is in Ozzie land where names are doubled.
(Seems like British prisoners brought that habit over there) ;)

Thank you,

After last update of Locus Pro only Reverse geocoding works for me even if I'm online and Search Address is switched for Search Address (Online).
For this moment I posses three countries dbs, so those three do not pick up addresses online, only *offline.

Going to any other country online (which I do not have db of) I'm able to see full postal address (including post code if available) holding my finger on.

BTW, is it  possible to include post codes in db files? Or files might be to big?
In Britain for instance most people search post codes as they are more specific as street names.

I know that would need to make another search way as we have already Country > City > Street. In Britain that would be Country > Post Code. I can imagine as that option is probably too much, for most of the countries.

In OSM data are "City of London" and "London" separated individual cities.
http://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/65606#map=14/51.5131/-0.1002
"For ceremonial purposes Greater London excludes the City of London; For administrative purposes the 'City' is included."
The City of London is a city and county within London.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_of_London

Quote from: voldapet on March 22, 2016, 19:07:15In current or improved solution streets from City of London are not part of London. Is it correct? Or Should London contain also streets from "City of London"?
So if: "For administrative purposes the 'City' is included" I guess these streets should be in London also, but this is confusing.
From my point of view all streets should be in London, these from City of London and other 32 boroughs (33 boroughs in total).

Quote from: voldapet on March 22, 2016, 19:07:15Is London synonym for Greater London?
Yes, "Greater London, or London, is a region of England consisting of 33 districts: the 32 London boroughs and the City of London".

Thank you,

It looks like there is a mess somewhere in OSM base, not sure. :)
Some streets are available using

Country (England) > City > Street

Some only:

Country (England) > Borough > City > Street (Still looking in London which has 32 boroughs).

But again some boroughs exist in offline base some not.
Searching offline for these streets in Lambeth borough (part of London) makes no results:

Acre Lane
Strathleve Rd
Brixton Hill (Two Brixton... apprear but there is more Brixton names in London in Brixton (district)
All above are in London, Lambeth Borough
or most in London.

Summary, if you don't know all 32 boroughs of London, or don't know the borough of searched street it might be difficult.
Also in England db there is London and City of London, probably for that I need a map :P

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, don't know, in other countries offline search works easily.

Right, when changed Norway.map (OAM) to norway.osm.map works perfect with norway.osm.db. (db appears), thanks.

Hi,

Tried offline search on Beta Version (flight mode) and works lovely in Poland, but not having luck in England, specifically London area. Most of the streets pop up with auto-filling and are visible in alphabetical order but those what I was looking for, sadly not.
Reverse geocoding shows all streets which I pointed (*) including these not existing in offline search, so I guess the names are in a .db file but do not appear in offline search.

What might make that error?

Also my understanding is if we have no Locus map (having few Locus maps and few OAM maps too) the .db file is not visible by locus, right?

Hi,

Can we get national flags in the United Kingdom countries maps?
As I found Isle of Man or Jersey maps have flags already, England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland do not.

BTW, official flag of Northern Ireland is flag of the UK, Union Jack.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_British_flags#

Also as Spain folder includes Canary Islands as separate map that flag might be added too.

I know it's not important by would be nice to include this in next maps update.

Thank you for your feed back.

@Kona
-water reservoirs rendered at all military areas are working in next version  :)
-bus stop symbol, what symbol would you prefer? You can change the file in symbols path

Thank you,

Personally I like kind of graphical bus icon as you did for trains, which for bus stop might be blue.
But seeing this theme on original German website it makes sense keeping H icon as it works good over there in terms of colour pallete.

Like it!

LocusUser#1 asks on his German language thread for any opinions, suggestions, error reports so here we go.

Personally I really like it, good hiking theme, nice colour pallete.
- Works and looks perfect on my high resolution screen (galaxy S5 1920 × 1080).
- So far I can report no water reservoirs rendered at all military areas.
- Bus stop icon is tricky when you browse not German speaking countries, specially if you do not know the meaning of 'H' ;)
- Restaurants, shops would be good to add also

Well done!

Interesting theme!
Would be nice if any of incoming updates are in English thread also!
(As gynta created one thread already)

Hallo LocusUser#1
Interessantes theme!
Es wäre nett, wenn Du uns über zukünftige updates auch im englischen Forumbeitrag informieren würdest.

That might be difficult as long names need to have bigger radius, short names, minimal one.

Radius = number of letters

Also as I found using same themes on different devices gives completely opposite experience.

Troubles & Questions / Re: Locus Store
August 18, 2015, 20:56:21
Hi,

When going to Store / My Account icon / Check for updates, the list is populated with all my purchased maps and available updates eventually.
Most of the countries / regions I won't need anymore as not planning to visit.

Is it any chance to bring some option to delete unwanted items permanently to show desired maps only?

I remember Google Play had that lack of option in All app tab, keeping all downloaded titles. After few years they have decided to make it more user friendly.

I know as we are talking about few, maybe dozens of maps comparing to hundreds of app, but that would be helpful.

Regards,
