Have you tried Lake Baikal for surface=winter? There's a well known ice road across it, and I have read that the area is well mapped on OSM.

If I navigate with a preset linked to car navigation, Locus appears to no longer revert to the previous state when navigation ends.

Online search
1. If I choose to "Search for postal addresses and LoPoints on the internet" I have three sources offered: Google, Graphhopper and Bing but not LoPoints. The results look as if LoPoints are automatically included. Correct? If so, not obvious.
In any case, I may not want to include LoPoints in my search. For example a search for Hyde Park returns a lot of (LoPoints) establishments with Hyde Park in their name and I have to hunt for the location of the real Hyde Park. A search for Paradise is even worse!
2. But even worse, a search like above, followed by a click on a point often now leads to Locus crashing as it redraws the map.

Overlay seems impossibly unstable (particularly SRC in and SRC out) in v 4.

Still getting "nothing to display" instead of the map name. It's annoying because I can't change the theme without selecting the map again.

When I pan the map in dark mode, I find the map tiles appearing out of black tiles disconcerting and less smooth than previously. I was going to suggest you detect and use the background colour of the map but just realised that would only work for vector maps.

Internal BRouter (LoRouter) is not working for me with the fast car or eco car profiles. See screenshot. Works ok with bike and foot profiles. Works ok with online LoRouter and my own installation of BRouter.

First initialisation gives a very poor graduated fill in dark mode. See picture.
I think this screen now only appears the very first time the app or updated app is run but I can't be sure. Text appears over the top of it shortly - it used to say something like "firing up the warp engines" but now says something more serious.

Release notes refer to Brouter (internal), as previously discussed. App still says Brouter (inner), which is not good English.

Road surfaces are only supported in maps from OpenAndroMaps, not in LoMaps
Tracktypes are supported by both sets of maps.

If i delete a theme the Legend stays and consequently so does the entry in the themes menu.

First you need to ensure that Expert Settings is turned on:
- long press Locus main menu button
- tap Expert settings
- Expert settings appear in Locus Map settings

Then it's Settings > Expert Settings > Development > Dark Application Theme

(Both Expert Settings and Dark Theme are at the bottom of their screen of settings, so scroll and scroll.)

I, too, have been getting random crashes with the new beta.
I can reproduce the crash reliably by
1. Long press, so that address & details slide up panel appears on bottom part of screen
2. Tap on map screen so address panel disappears
3. Another long press, Locus crashes.

BTW I don't think this is the only way that Locus now crashes. Before this latest report by @Raddino, I thought it was connected with flinging the screen but I was not able to reproduce it.
