Locus Map / Re: [APP] - version 4.6.+ ( 02/2022 )
« on: March 07, 2022, 07:42:08 »
Is it possible to change the options for importing a map and importing a theme in 'importing A SET of maps and A SET of themes? In other words 'copy from a complete directory to a directory.

I have 4 devices where i have to place several  same OSM's. Several times in a year I renew these maps. ThereforeI I downloaded these maps in a directory in Google Drive. With X-plore I copied selected maps in one step to de maps-vector directory.

@arnor: since Dec 2021 Locus can handle ZIPed themes, i.e. just drop the ZIP file into the _themes folder. Done.

Just to be clear because I'm not quite at home in Locus yet.

I have OpenAndroMaps installed.  Of course also the corresponding Theme (both V5) Now also the FzOAM theme.  Themes are zipped.  However, in Locus4, I don't see the FzOAM theme in the themechangescreen.  Do I need other maps (eg Freizeitkarte) for the FzOAM theme to use this theme.

Must the file be unzipped to Themes?

Klingt interessant.

Trat dieses Problem nicht mit LM4 und nicht mit LM3 auf?  Die Schlussfolgerung ist dann, dass die LM4-Software das Smartphone hei├čer macht als die LM3-Software.

Minutes....? It took me exact 30 seconds. Long, but not that long.  In any case, it was much shorter.

I downloaded and installed version 4.5.4 on my Samsung A52 (Android 11).  Installed was 4.5. Then I moved various folders via the settings to the privatesection on the sd card, including the folder mapsVector (with 20Gb maps).  Since then, turning on or off overlays in themes appears to be very slow.  Can this be solved by reinstalling themes?  I have already restarted the smartphone and also cleared cache.

Sorry, I just saw that someone else has just beaten me to a similar question.

Just for my clarity:

Did I understand correctly that:
- both app and userdata may no longer be placed in the root directory.
- this means that userdata such as srtm and vector should no longer be in the root.
- this means that app and data must be in the private directory /android/data.
- that the app and data may be on the sd card, but only in the private directory.

Is it then possible to divide app and data over private directories in internal memory and SD card? For example the app with important data such as the database in the private folder in the internal memory and for example the srtm and vector folders in the private memory of the sdcard?

I personally like to have data (such as documents, books, photos, vector maps, etc.) together in such a way that a backup can easily be made and in my case all on the sd-card.

By the way, where could I find information about the devastating reasons behind this new setup in Android 11+. Maybe then I can understand. Years ago, I got rid of my Apple iPhone because I felt Apple was being too "protective" with regard to data I owned. Can I do what I want with it. I know; this is not the address where I should file my complaints. You can't do anything about it either. Fortunately, I know that you will do everything you can to keep things running smoothly. Thanks for that.

I like the proposal of 0709:

'Can it be offered in a more valuable way ?
Optimise by exporting as standard compact route.
Contains only start & shaping & Via and Finish as route points.'

Maps / Re: Deleting vactor-maps
« on: September 30, 2021, 22:43:40 »
I had installed some Freizeitkarte-maps; for each map one file on the vector-map. By deleting the first map stays the file. So I post a message and was waiting for the answer.

I tried again other maps and deleten files works now OK.

Maps / Deleting vactor-maps

In Locus4 I installed several offline maps (such as maps from Freizeitkarte). I have now removed one map by choosing 'delete' on the hamburger menu after the map name. It now appears that the file data of this map still appears in the folder of the Vector maps. Should these be removed manually here or should I have chosen another method.

Troubles & Questions / Error-message

Error messages appear after downloading, for example, Freizeitkarte.  See screenshot. The cards appear to open normally and are also usable.  What is going on here?  the mapsVector directory is on an SDCard. I use LM 4.3.3

Troubles & Questions / Re: Locus Map Gold is too dark
« on: August 26, 2021, 20:46:27 »
Menion's statement is clear to me.  Still, I do see a possible solution unless I'm a moron.

I have a feeling that something is wrong with the cide abortus brightness settings in the software that affects the user settings as set on the smartphone. The solution seems simple to me. Remove all settings from the software regarding brightness (such as whether or not to use dark mode).  Even remove the reference to the device settings.

The software will then use the user settings on the smartphone. If it still does not work, then I think there is a problem with the smartphone. Is this too simple thought?

As a Samsung user, I wondered if (also with all answers) this still only concerns the Gold version.  I am a Silver user myself and I have the feeling that I have no problems there.  is that important to know?
