Hi,
download link only offers version 4.0.2.7 from 29.04  ....

Just saw the version at Google Play ... ;)

I don't find the new version. I is because I am a beta-tester? Can't I then install the newest public version?

Hi,
thank you for the post. It seems that we forgot to update all layers when we updated from Statkart topo3 to topo4  a couple of months ago.
Anyway the Statkart topo map use thefollowing layers:
- zoom < 15 is used toporaster4
- zoom >= 15 is used topo4
The same system was used for the former Topo3 version
Thanks, Petr

Thanks for answer. Now I see Topo from Statkart is much better in zoom >= 15.

Still, I prefer to use topo4 in all zooms, I think theese are nicer maps. Topo raster is much more messy, and I don't understand why you have to mix this in, and not use topo4 purely, as it is original from the Norwegian Mapping Authority (Statens Kartverk). Possibly as another map that we can choose.

But that said, it got a lot better now, but I would have had topo4 in all zooms.
(So I'm glad I have the tweak, but I treat other Norwegians to this opportunity as well.)

Don't disagree that it would be nice to have both topo and raster as native maps, but you can bring in topo4 as a WMS service. May be that is what you mean by XML tweak?

No, I get the map as ordinary online-map in Locus. I have tried WMS, but it is slower, and not so good as the online topo4 map.

What is the different between LoMaps offline, and LoMaps Hike&Bike?

I tried the web planner to make a route in Ã…ndalsnes in Norway and discovered something strange:

https://web.locusmap.app/en/?lat=62.564336&lng=7.715878&z=15

The three holes (marked in the screenshots) are not there, as far as I know... I cant find them with LoMaps Offline map in LM4 neither.

Maps / Startkart, Norway

Hi,

Some years ago you did a change in Statkart map and changed it from country to raster map.

I don't like the rastermap at all. It has much lower resolution, and few details compared to countrymap.
Especially at level 14 and 15, I think rastermap is poor. For use in Geocaching, for example, countrymap is much better for fine navigation.
(See example of the same map section, with the two different maps).

I brought this up with you a few years ago, but you wouldn't do anything about it that time. I have therefore tweaked it with an XML file, so I get the map I want, but when I recommend LocusMap to other norwegians, I have lost my best "selling point", namely the Norwegian map from the Statens Kartverk (statkart).

If you want you are welcome to keep Topo and Sailing as it is now, what I ask for is that you in addition can offer countrymap without changes (in all zooms).

Please, I think norwegians love this maps from Statkart because of their rich details, and its free to use, so I think LocusMap should offer them.

The upgrade to Gold works for me to! Thanks.

But there is another case: When I try to download elevation-data in Norway, i get this message:
"Sorry, can't download such a big area. Please select a smaller one or zoom the map in."

Isn't it possible to download elevetion-data for whole Norway, when I can download the map for whole Norway? How can i zoom in or select smaller area?

Information / Re: [TRANSLATION]
March 23, 2021, 20:48:19
As a Norwegian translator, it bothers me a bit that I can't find place in crowding where I can translate "POINTS" in the Locus Store. See attached screenshot. The word "points" in English can be translated to "POENG" in Norwegian, but this is a different meaning (such as a number of points that you get in a competition). Points in the meaning "spots" is called "Punkter" in Norwegian. It looks like this word is inside an image. Is this something you have done yourself using google translate? Is it possible to change it to "Punkter"?

I have downloaded LM4, and even though I have logged in in both LM3 and LM4 with the same Google Account, I don't get an offer. I can pay full price, since I love the app, but I think I should inform you that the offer doesn't work for me. Maybe it's beacuse I must pay in NOK, and not EUR? The price for me is 255 Norwegian Kroner, which is 24 Eur.

I just want to say that I'm looking forward to a new version of Locus Map. I have been using LM4 for a while (demo) and I am very happy.

When it comes to pricing the app, I think you have been quite generous considering that Locus Pro can still be used, and will be maintained further.

I bought the Pro several years back, pretty cheap. And when I think about how much I have enjoyed the app, I think I have paid too little. (Once I even bought some LoCoins that I did not need, just to contribute a little). I understand that it costs to develop the app, and I happily pay some euros a year, in exchange for the program beeing continuously improved and developed.

Thank you for the work you do, and congratulations on the new launch!  :)

I am not native english (but I translate the app to norwegian)

I also agree.

Menion:

@Frivold
sorry, this is currently not possible. I'll see if more people will be interested in this feature, anyway generally I do not see any usage in rotating map when the map is not centered on the current GPS location.

Well, i think it is a bit boring that the autorotation stops just because I zoom out the map.

I like the v4, but i really miss one thing:
It is not possible to zoom out the map, without missing autorotation.
I miss the possibility to autorotate, even if the map is not in center.
I used that much in v3 when I f.ex. was at a viewpoint, and want to see on map what i look at. Then i like to rotate the phone, not have the map frozen, and just use the sigth-line.

I sometimes also need to zoom out the map, for better overview on map, and then autorotation went off. I hope you can implement the old opportunity to keep autoritation, even though the map center move a bit. Maybe as an option in the settings.

I am looking forward to the release of LM4. I really like this version.

I am a bit curious about the new web-planner. How far it it away from testing? Will it be translation on this part to? (I am translating LM to norwegian).

I miss the oportunity to let the map autorotate when the map is NOT in center. I use this in the public version f.ex. when i am on a summit, and zoom the map in to see what I see in the horizont. When i point the phone in different directions i can read the map.  In v4 the autorotation disappear when zooming. I miss the possibility to keep autorotation.
