When recording track from Locus, but with "My Tracks" option, which application's settings are used?

My Tracks's or Locus's? I am referring to settings like time between two readouts, etc?

What is the advantace to use my tracks for recording vs using locus?

I see, ok, I will try this out. I thought that the GPS will remain on all the time and locus will just get the location at the selected intervals.

Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the tip.

But, if I set the time interval to, let's say 1 hour, for point to be recorded, during the time between 2 points, is the GPS on? As i think it is, and this will still drain battery.

Ok, thanks.

Yes, converting points to tracks is a good idea - i decided to get points manually rather than recording a track to save battery. This way I was able to record my path for about 3 days, but now I need to reconstruct it.

or maybe a batch edit for points to fill in the altitude when  you have internet connection?

In my case, I was trekking in the mountains, the GPS was on, yet when I added points, the altitude was "0.000" by default.

I undestand your point, but it should be more intuitive and easy for the user. You are with the gps on, the center of the map is exactly on the GPS location, why not automatically get GPS data in the form?

I did not know about the "New" button. I was trying to use the phone as quickly as possible to save battery.

Thanks for the quick replies.

Why does altitude need internet connection?

The only reason for internet need is getting the altitude from the only maps, but I have downloaded the maps, and Locus can tell me the altituded of any point on the map. Moreover the altitude is also computed using the GPS, and it is displayed on the main screen. Can't Locus just take it from gps and fill it in, or from the offline maps, in case it lacks internet connection?

Troubles & Questions / Exporting "all in one"
July 11, 2011, 09:26:13
Hello!

I have recorded 2 tracks and added about 30 points on a map.

How can I export them all in google maps? Or at lease generate a kmz/kml that has all of these included?

Also, I added the 30 point manually to save battery, but I would like to have the connected, just like a track. Is there a possibility to convert a set of points to a track? (basically connect the dots?)

Thanks!

When adding a new point, Locus opens up the form, where you enter name and description. It automatically fills in latitude and longitude, but not the altitude.

It would be great to have the altitude auto-inserted too.

Thanks!
