Thanks. I managed to fix the problem by going to the Locus app's properties in the Settings app and clearing Locus's cache. When I ran Locus after that, the map was showing in Map Manager.

I have Locus Map 4.35.0 on a Pixel 10 Pro running Android 17. Amongst other maps, I have the OpenAndroMaps for Scandinavia-NorthEast and Scandinavia-SouthWest installed in the /Android/media/menion.android.locus/mapsVector folder, but only the Scandinavia-NorthEast map shows in the Locus map manager, and if I try to look at any location in the area covered by the Scandinavia-SouthWest map (eg Oslo or Stockholm) I just get a blank screen. See attached screenshots from the Locus Map Manager and from the file manager on my Pixel.

I downloaded the Scandinavia-SouthWest map a second time, in case the first download was corrupt, but the problem remains unchanged. I also had a look in the Locus log folder on the phone, and the latest log contains the following - don't know if that is of any significance:

As Google stopped providing OS updates for my Pixel 5 a bit over a year ago, I just installed GrapheneOS plus Google Play services and Play Store app. However, when I install Locus Map 4 on it from the Play Store, Locus doesn't recognise my subscription. When I start it up, it sticks the "Dont like ads? Go Premium!" notification at the top of the screen, indicating that the subscription is not recognised. However, if I attempt to uninstall Locus app the Play Store, it tells me that my active subscriptions will not be cancelled, so Google Play knows about the subscription but Locus does not. I also notice that location does not work, although when I look in settings, Locus has the location permission allowed. If I tap on location in Locus, I just get a blank screen, as seen in the first screenshot above. If I keep tapping "-" to zoom out until I get the raster overview map, I can see that the location is set somewhere in the middle of Europe, though I'm in Australia.

I would like to be able to still see bike path highlighting at a larger scale than where it presently disappears. See attached screenshots - with the 1km scale indication at top right I still have bike paths highlighted in purple - if I press the "+" button to zoom in to the next level, all the highlighting disappears. Is it possible to change the scale at which this change happens?

Thanks. I already have automatic map loading turned on in settings, but I intermittently see this problem, so it looks as though the automatic loading isn't always working correctly.

Locus Map Classic 3.68.2 with OpenAndroMaps installed on a Pixel 7a running Android 13. Sometimes, when I pan a map, part of the screen does not redraw the map correctly - see attached screenshots. When this problem happens, if I pan the map a very small amount further, so that most of the area I am viewing remains on screen, then the entire screen draws correctly. Any thoughts on why or how to eliminate the problem?

Behaviour is the same when swapping between the beta V5 OAM maps and LoMaps, and vice versa. When a search goes from an area covered by one map type to the other, only the POIs display on the screen until I open the map manager and tap on the map for the current area, at which point the rest of the map will then display correctly.

The OP's problem was when the first map was a LoMap (V3) and the second map an OAM map, presumably v4.

The problem happens going either way - from LoMap to OAM map, or from OAM map to LoMap.

I'm waiting for the OAM maps v5 to become available to see if the problem is the same with those.

Since posting my original message I've upgraded the phone to a Pixel 6, and the problem is the same there.

Did you check the map position (degree S/N) in all those steps?
Just to rule out one possible root cause ...

If you mean do I have a vector map installed for the map position, the answer is yes. I have OpenAndroMaps installed for where I live. If I have the map in Locus showing Singapore, say, which is an LoMap, and then tap the GPS button to get the map centred on my position, then I get the blank screen with only POIs showing. I have to go into the menu and select "Center Map", and only after doing that, can I then I tap the GPS button and see the both map and POIs.

Have you tried it on your installation to see if you can reproduce the problem?

Yes, auto-loading of vector maps is enabled in map settings, and panning and/or zooming in or out does not make any difference - I still only see POIs until centering the map through Map Manager.

LM Pro 3.55.1 on a Pixel 5 running Android 11 - well actually Android 12 as of this morning - problem is the same on Android 12. I mostly use OpenAndroMaps in LM, but I also have a couple of LoMaps. If I have the screen displaying an area covered by OpenAndroMap, do a search that will take me to an area on an LoMap, then when I tap the search result to show the map, I get a blank screen with just the POIs showing. The only way to get the map to display is go to Map Manager off the three bar menu, find the LoMap in the list of maps, and select "Center map", which causes the LoMap to display, then repeat the search to get to the location I want.

The same problem happens the other way as well - if LM is displaying an area covered by an LoMap, and the search takes me to an area covered by an OpenAndroMap, then again I get the blank screen except for POIs, and have to go through the same process as above to get the map to display.

See attached screenshot after performing a search that goes from OpenAndroMap to LoMap. Even closing and re-opening LM doesn't fix the problem - I still just see the POIs until I go into Map Manager and center the map.

With Android 12 beta on a Pixel 5, LM Pro 3.55.1, and Brouter 1.6.1, I can select Brouter as the navigation service and add it to the right panel in LM.

with LM Pro 3.x, I use Brouter as the routing service when planning routes in LM, and then export the routes as GPX to my Garmin device for the actual navigation. With LM4, can I do the same?

Thanks, I had automatic map loading enabled for both raster and vector maps, but what I hadn't enabled was pre-loading of the global map. Once I turned that on, the auto switching between the global map and the vector OpenAndroMaps started working.

However, there are still problems switching between vector maps. Here's what I see when from my home location in Australia I search for Valence, which is on the France_South map, so I'm switching from one OpenAndroMap to another. I have to do a zoom in or out to get the entire screen showing the map:



As well as OpenAndroMaps I also have a couple of LoMaps installed (for Christmas Island and Singapore, which avoids having to have 2.5Gb of the OpenAndroMap Malaysia-Indonesia map installed just to get those two small areas), and there are problems switching between OpenAndroMap and LoMap vector maps. This is what I see if I search for a location on Christmas Island, involving a switch from an OpenAndroMap to an LoMap. To get the map to display here, I have to open the map menu and tap on the map for the location:



And this is what happens going in the other direction - having an LoMap displaying and telling Locus to centre the map at my current location, which is on an OpenAndroMap. The POIs show up, but not the map itself. I have to similarly open the map menu and tap on the map for the area to get it to display:

Locus 3.48.0 on a Pixel 4 running Android 11. I have the OpenAndroMaps world 1-9 raster map installed (http://download.openandromaps.org/maps/world/W1-9-J70.mbtiles) and also their vector maps for Australia and Europe. If I'm in one of the detailed vector maps, and zoom out and then pan across to an area not covered by the vector maps, all I see is a blank white screen where the map should be. Zooming in or out at this point makes no difference. I have to select Maps off the main menu and center the world raster map from its three dot menu to get it to appear, after which I can see the map for the area that was previously displaying as blank.

Conversely, if I have the raster map displaying, and pan across to an area for which I have vector maps installed, Locus doesn't switch to the vector map as I zoom in. The only way to get the detailed vector map is to again select Maps off the main menu and center the vector map off its three dot menu.
