Hi Menion,

Mapsforge released a new version yesterday, including  support for "Render Themes":
http://code.google.com/p/mapsforge/wiki/RenderThemeAPI

Please have a look at the new version and consider including it in new Locus version. The Mapnik render would greatly be appreciated!

Thanks!

PS: I thougt it best to write back here for context, I can also create a new thread at getsatisfaction.com if you wish.

Hi Menion,

Quote from: "menion"sorry guys but all these "wishes, issues" belongs to vector library I use ... http://code.google.com/p/mapsforge/

thanks for the pointer. I checked the 'issues' page there and it looks like the wish has already been granted, they are implementing something like MapCSS now:
"Add an API to modify the rendering style at runtime"
http://code.google.com/p/mapsforge/issu ... 20Modified
Basically, there is an XML file that can be edited, which is similar to osmarender stylesheets.

Could you, please, look into this? I fyou do not have the time, or if this is too low on your priority list, I could give it a try, however, I do not know mapsforge well, so I do not know if I can find my way around.

Best,
  Chris

Declined / Vectormaps, OSM Mapnik

Hi,

I am using Locus for a while now and I love it!  :D

I am using the Vector maps addon which makes life so much easier for geocaching. However, it looks like the maps are rendered via the OSMARender base. Would it be possible to render the vector maps via Mapnik? Mapnik is much better for smallish trails. Question 2: Would it be possible to incorporate terrein data, like in the OpenCycle maps?

Thanks!

First of all, thanks for Locus, it is frigging awesome! It is one of the most useful apps on my phone!  :D

I am using Locus Pro 1.7.4. For some time, I have a problem when downloading OpenStreetMap maps. I can only download up to level 24, not level 25 or 26, the checkboxes are not available. Zooming in the online map works fine. Google (via providers.xml) works up to level 27. I cannot say exactly when this started, but I clearly remember that I was able to download OSM up to level 26. I checked the forums but could find no answer to my problem. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Thanks,
  Chris
