Troubles & Questions / Re: vector sea does not show
October 16, 2016, 08:17:52
Ah. My bad. I was sure I had that April 2016 England version but for some reason I had an earlier one. Not sure what happened there.

Anyway, thanks for the theme, a very good UK style with nice scale thresholds. Something I've struggled with at work using esri/OS vector map & mastemap, also I appreciate how much effort it takes.

Ok, old topic, but not resolved for me. I'm using maps downloaded from sources listed and a variety of themes but sea fails.

Two images, one from c:geo which at least has a coastline, the other from Locus using  Voluntary Uk. No coast. Any ideas?

Edit, those screen shots v were from the "England" cut. Full GB works fine, is this down to unclosed polygons in the England cut?

Alas, I hit the same as the similat post in the Esri forum, I need to change datum then reproject, I had the same issue with using an Esri Google API, that overlayed my maps with Google, I had to re-do my data, it couldn't handle on the fly conversion.

Shame.

Gosh, that's one I've not used, make me maps all squished :-D I'll have a play with projecting my WMS as that, ArGIS can do most re-projections if it has the right .prj file

Hi

I've set up a WMS but it doesn't match with the basemaps - about 200 metre offset - I've seen similar when projections get mixed up.  My data are in Britishish National grid (WKID:27700), but I can produce the WMS in any projection so I tried Web Mecator, but with same effect.  Is there an ideal projection for Locus to use?

I'm not sure, but my issue may be similar to this one on the Esri forum //http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/12115-Project-WGS84-to-British-National-Grid-with-Geometry-Service.

I'm sorry, but for copyright and server reasons I can't post the WMS link here

Cheers

Cool - I'll look at 1.6.1.1 when I return to work next week and get my hands back on our test phone - WMS support will move this from a useful app to one I can really sell to my boss.

Hi - many thanks for an excellent app - since google removed the api to edit user maps this has proved excellent for field data capture, where accuracy isn't crucial (nearest 5 metres)

I'm very interested to see you have listed ArcGIS in the most recent version - I've stuck at 1.5.1 for obvious reasons for now,  could you please enlighten me what formats these are?  Are they for user maps (shapefiles/rasters) stored on the SD card or support for ArcGIS map services?

One feature I'd love, is WMS support - that way I could ditch using google maps and feed our field guys our much more detailed maps and aerials.

Many thanks for the app (again)
