Quote from: "rafa-and"About merge, maybe it is not as simple as it seems. Besides, if people have an area between different maps it is usually because of the volum of information.  Maybe an alternative is, in offline mode, to open automatically another map when you goes out of the current one...

Good idea, solves the problem. Isn't it possible to detect the current location of the android phone and then automatically chose the best fitting/most actual map. I mean, you know where you are and you know the area bounds of the offline map. With these two information it is possible for Locus to serve the right offline map, isn't it?

Hi
i'm not sure if i really got your problem, but my ideas:
- refreshing: you can put a simple button with a little symbol right next to the offline maps in the menu. i don't know how you act with the data but i think the ranges a user chose for downloading a special area are somehow converted into to edge coordinates. these can be stored in the sqlite db for this map, am i right? so the refresh button can have a lookup to this data, delete the old map and can download this area in the same way as a user choose it.

- merge: normally you can merge two different dbs into another, simply if you take the entries of one and write it into another. of course you have to be careful with things like indexes... the UI? if you are in the map menu for offline maps you can put an entry into the menu which normally toggles if you press the menu button: "Merge Maps". then you get a selecting mode, a checkbow nedt to every offline map shown in the list. you check every map you want to merge, press ok, that's it. the selecting mode can be done in the same way as in c:geo, do you know that?

so far my ideas, greets s-man

Hi,

i really miss a functionality to refresh the offline stored maps. Especially OSM-Maps change from time to time, so you have to download the newer maps sometimes. A simple refresh button would be really nice, so you don't need to search the right area everytime.

The second wish i want to become true ;) is a merge of several offline map. In my special case there are two different cities i live in. So i have to switch the offline map after every tour. It would be easier when these panels are stored in one file.

But thanks for this great app :)
