Yes you are absolutly right, it would ruin your day if android crashs and so you do not notice that you are totaly wrong ;-)

Thanks for the quick answer menion. I am looking forward for this new feature!

Thanks for this great tool!

Hi menion,

thanks for this improvment. It works very nice and it is usable for me.
But i would wish that one can set up it the other way. So it only beep when leaving the path for x meters. Is this possible?
I try to explain this demand. As i often download tracks from the internet and import it in Locus this pathes have many way points and it beeps very often and is also anoying.
So if it only would beep when i loose the track i could look at the display and check where to go only if necessary because i lost the track.
I try to be a little bit more precise:
Under guiding i can set a distance for changing to the next waypoint. If this distance could be used and Locus would beep if the distance to a waypoint gets bigger than the given value this would be great.

Thanks very much for this amazing tool which really helped me alot ;-)

Best regards

Hi,

i thought i have this GPS issue too, until i recognized that i can switch off GPS in radar view. After switch it off there everything is fine.
Can it be that it is new that this setting is default? I never recognized it before, i knew this setting but beforhand it was allways off.
Everything else works fine for me. Thanks for this great work!

Best regards

Hi menion,

first of all i want to thank you for the greate software and your fantastic development.
I have a wish i wrote down in Troubles & Questions but i think it is better here, because it is a real wish from me and i think it would be helpful for others too.

Sure it's a nice to have but it would be very helpful for Biker, Walker, Tourer, ... and it would help to save battery.
I often do Skitours and i love Locus for this! Often you can get tracks as KML or GPX with the route from the Inet.
The guiding function works perfect but you have allways to look at the display. This on the one hand waste battery and on the other hand is not so easy in bright light conditions or when you are riding your bike or when you have gloves on skitours.
Normaly i have my device with Locus running in my pocket and a slight idea where to go. So it would be very helpfull to have a guiding sound for loosing tracks.

The best way i see is that the device beep when you loose / leave the track. Leaving the track should be adjustible by max distance to track.
So you know when you are loosing your track and can look where to go. If you are in the given distance to track everything is fine and nothing must beep.

Because you have no exact track / way in the backcountry and everything is coverd with snow it would be very nice to set such a Max Distance to track. You must not exactly follow the track but you also do not want to loose it at all.

I think such a distance feature is allready there for guiding. It would be fantastic it can be combined with the guiding sound.

Best regards and thank you very much for your great work!!!

Hi,

as i have read you need the dbtracks.sqll i have attached it here (it is ziped). Hope this helps to reproduce the error.
I also have to add that export of any track fails, with the log from above.

Thanks

Hi,

i have a problem when exporting a track. I recorded a track at the weekend with 13 km and a duration of 6 hours. Now i try to export and the application crashes. I have tried KML and GPX.

Troubles & Questions / Re: guiding sounds
March 07, 2011, 16:54:48
Hi menion,

I often do Skitours and often i have a KML GPX with the route from the Inet. Your software is realy fantastic to find your way in the back country and also record your track with your own data like time speed ...

But i also have a idea / wish for guiding in this situation. You are walking and you do not have your device all the time in your hand. Normally you have it in your pocket.
Also you have i idea where to go so it is not necessary that the phone beep all the time this would be very  annoying when you do a 4 hour tour ;-)
So it would be very helpfull if one can set a Max Distance to track and if one exeed this distance and only than the device should beep. So you know when you are loosing your track and can look where to go. If you are in the Max distance to track everything is fine and nothing must beep. Because you have no exact track / way in the backcountry and everything is coverd with snow it would be very nice to set such a Max Distance to track. You must not exactly follow the track but you also do not want to loose it at all.

So if you want to develop further on guiding it would be very helpfull if such a feature would be implemented.
I think such a distance feature is allready there.
It would be fantastic if you can switch between "beep on come near" and "beep on loosing track".

Best regards and thank you very much

Hi!

First of all i want to thank you very much for this great application. It is the best app to plan outdoor tours.
If i use the Map+ (Swiss) it works fine in Online Mode, i can also choose download Map, seperate SQL and the app downloads the files.
But if i than choose my downloaded map i do not see it. I only see empty place where the map should be.
Do you have a idea whats happening?

Best regrads and thanks for this great app
Kai
