Hi everyone,

I always use the distance rings that are drawn around the center of the map. For some maps these rings can be a bit too thick and distract from the map content.

Is there a way to change the style of the rings? At the moment these rings are shown as dashed double lines.

I would like to show only one line per ring and reduce the thickness. Is this possible?

yes, I'm using the latest Locus version.

I can confirm your observations - now it works for me as well! One of those days...

Let me take the opportunity to thank you again for the wonderful work you are doing, not to forget the incredibly fast response on issues posted in the forum. I'm using Locus now since about 4 years and nothing else comes close to its versatility with various data sources.

Hi,

I'm trying to include geological layers provided by the GNS Science institution into Locus. The data can be used under creative commons (CC-BY 3.0).

If I click on "WMS 1.3.0" capabilities (I do this in a standard browser) I get this XML-file: http://maps.gns.cri.nz/geology/ows?service=wms&version=1.3.0&request=GetCapabilities

Here I can see the address http://maps.gns.cri.nz:80/geology/ows?SERVICE=WMS&

When I add this adress as a new WMS server to Locus, I can access the list of provided layers and can select a particular layer.

Unfortunately when I switch back to the main screen of Locus, instead of the actual layer data I only get the message "unbekanntes Problem" (i.e. "unknown problem") as overlay on the base map.

To me the first steps look quite promising since I can see the information about the provided layers. Am I missing something which prevents the successful integration of the layer data?

I'm using Locus Pro on two devices: A Google Nexus One and a Acer Iconia A211 tablet. On both I have installed the latest updates of Locus.

On the phone I can activate "Heading line", essentially a line or vector that indicates the current direction of movement.

Unfortunately I cannot activate this extremely useful feature within Locus installed on the Tablet. The option is shown in the settings but is shown in grey, apparently this indicates that the option is not available. I can touch this settings while trying to activate it but nothing happens.
In contrast to the phone the tablet has no compass sensor. But I think the movement indicator should not have anything to do with the orientation of the device (compass).

Can someone help me here? I would really like to use this feature and have no idea why this should not be possible on the tablet. If this is a bug I would be really, really happy for a quick fix as I'm on a trip right now and like to use the aforementioned feature.

thank you for your answer. Your assumed example is correct, the satellite imagery has more detailed layers than my nautical map.

As I just found out the problem was somewhere else: The nautical map was "work in progress", that means, it was in an intermediate status of creating an offline map: In some areas the data of the most detailed layer was not yet downloaded.

As of now both maps are completely downloaded and when I zoom in, I get the desired result: Overzoom without switching to grey! So I think, everything is fine, the behavior described in my first post seems to have been a result of missing data...

first of all, the app is the most usable and magnificent work when it comes to mobile map work!

Recently, I created some offline maps from a nautical online map source. The data contains rather schematic data (isolines for water-depths, symbols, numbers etc.). Besides the schematic maps, I created some offline maps that contain satellite images of shallow water regions. I'm using both at the same time with the overlay feature which gives a great experience of having the nautical information and the raw images from the seabed shown simultaneously.

My satellite-image map has more detail (layers) than my nautical map. Unfortunately, when I zoom in further than the most detailed layer of the nautical map, this map becomes greyed out out and I only see the other map.

The currently build in zoom-lock does not solve my problem as this really locks me to a certain layer. I would like to switch between layers while zooming (the standard behavior) but allow the enlargement of the most detailed layer rather than fading the map to grey.

My question is if it is possible, to allow further zoom for the most detailed layer of a map? Of course, this will not give more detail and result in a pixelated view, but for my use it would be very helpful.
