Hey Menion and gynta,
thanks for helping. I'm back from the hike and everything worked out fine.
I cannot really tell by now what went wrong when testing. But the hint with "gps-auto-off" unchecked
and the "number of points" question definitely helped.
So for any newbie eventually facing similar problems, herre's the settings I used for track recording whilst hiking
thru the wilderness, and it just worked out fine:
Recording:
interval meters: 5m
interval seconds: 15s
maximum accuracy: 30 m
only while moving: on

shown on map:
limit points on map: off
Number of points: 100
the rest is design

If any of you more experienced guys finds one of those settings erroneous or
worth improvement, please post.

For beginners, the info might help anyway.

greez and thanks
Heissa

@gynta: I found out by now how to do a screenshot on my galaxy s2.
good times ahead.

Can you send or upload the track?
So we can see if there is a problem.

Hey gynta,
I'd like to, but don't know how...
problem is: leaving tomorrow for 4 days hike...
what is a good "number of points"-setting for a ays hike?

Thanks for caring

Ah, Ah,
some light coming up...:-)
- yes, gps auto off was checked first, but then I realized and disabled it...
no change on the test track, but could at least see movement on the display whilst recording
- I changed recording parameters according to the recommendations in the manual since the tests,
but there was not many major changes imho, I remember this:
- gps interval of actualisation: 90 sec
- track recording interval (meter): 10m
- tr interval (seconds): 10s
- max. accuracy: 10m
-recording only when moving: checked
-number of points: 100

I don't wanna steal your time, but if someone experienced could eventually just post me a list of
settings proved to be good for hiking (walking outdoors), I'd try with those and see what it gives.

Recording of too low number of points seems a, uhhm, interesting explanation-track...

Hi Menion,
thanks for quick answer.

No, zooming in doesn't help
and "Limit ponts on map" is off.

If I knew how to do it, I'd send you a screenshot...

checked thru forum as far as time allowed -
I seem to be the only one with this problem

If there's any further ideas - appreciated!

thanks in advance

Hi forum,

I'm quite a newbie, so maybe my problem can easily be solved:
running the LP pro version (bought in playstore), I do not really get tracks
when running the "track recording" feature -
the program always only shows straight lines connecting a few turning ponts
or the beginning and the end of the track, lines running thru buildings, across water, etc.

Those results are useless.

I tried ALL different options in teh "track recording" settings...no way to get a real track,
composed of points and tracing my real itinerary. If I disable "draw line", the track is not shown at all
on the map.

I thought I could record a track (showing the real moves in detail, I tried to use the recommended
settings for hiking), export as *.gpx-file, and publish or use with other maps / applications.

The map used is OSM Germany vectormap.

As I'm leaving for a 3 days hike next weekend, I'd appreciate very much any hints -
it can be done, I'm sure!

thanx in advance
