That's odd, Locus Free and Pro share the same folder structure, so any map you download in one version should also be available to the other.
Locus Free and Locus Pro are seperate apps, so you could uninstall Free now if you desired. Just back up your data first.

Also, if you want more map choices, and if you haven't already done so, you can go to Google Play Store and search for the "tweak", a free Locus addon. Glad you got it working.

Where are you located? If you are anywhere other than NZ, you have to "get on the map".
In the Map Manager "Online" tab. You should see the map you downloaded.
Click on that map to activate it, then do an address search for perhaps Christchurch to get on the map.

Or,

In the Map Manager "Personal" tab, you should also see your map.
If so, click the Screwdriver and wrench symbol, then click "Center map" to get on the map.

The view in your illustration is appropriate for when the phone is held in Landscape view.
In this case, the Overview is always open and cannot be closed.

If you switch to Portrait view, The overview window must be opened manually,
when it is open it fills the entire screen,
and may be closed by clicking the Back button on the bottom of your phone.

Yikes! Once you download and install the tweak, you actually have to RUN it, but only once. Maybe you've done that.
The next step would be to go to- Locus Settings> Map-advanced> Online maps  and see if the maps you want are enabled (check mark).
Then look again for them in Map Manager, Online Tab.

What version of Locus are you running?  And what was the source of your vector maps? There were a lot of recent changes to the vector maps.

After another re-read of your post, I am not 100% sure if you had started an "Online" map or an "Offline" map.
If you had started an "Online" map, the second portion of my above post would be incorrect.
You would select as type-  "Online shared map (SQL type).

But you can still use an "Online" map while "Offline".  Confusing?!!

Select "YES".
The wording of the message is bad. Selecting "YES" will not delete anything. You are merely saying that you no longer want to download the rest of the previos download that you had paused, and want to start a new download.

On the page where you select the layers desired, at the bottom of the page is the button "Change Type"
Click that button, then select "External map (SQL type)", this will allow you to navigate to and select the
personal map that you started previously, in order to add to it.

I assume you have not already done so-  search Google Play Store for the "tweak', a Locus add-on.
This will give you access to some useful satellite maps. You can then cache your area of interest before you go hunting.
The DOWNLOAD tab in the MAP MANAGER gives you several ways to limit your download to just your area of interest.

IMHO, Now that you have a "Heading Line" lose the "Show View" cone. The "Show View" cone implies a "field of view', which is not accurate.
The Heading Line will become more useful as gyros now are starting to be incorporated into phones and tablets.
The hardware compass on my HTC EVO 4G is nutslos. With a lot of figure 8s, i'm lucky if it reads within 15deg of correct heading, and it does not stay in calibration for long. In fact, when I first downloaded Locus, I was concerned that the locus compass did not have an Index, or "Lubber" line. Once I saw how innaccurate the hardware compass is, I realized it doesn't matter. So i'm glad the Heading Line is an option in settings.

The arrowheads on the Heading Line and Course Bearing Line appear to be at a random interval. Could instead there be tic marks at certain intervals? That would turn the lines into measuring sticks.

BTW, what you are calling the "Course Bearing Line", in airline nav displays is more accurately called "Projected Track".

BTW,this app is asymptotically approaching perfection.

I'm assuming you have good internet connection.
Then check "Quick Switch", found in FUNCTIONS menu, make sure "Offline Mode" is not active.
The same setting is located at-
Settings> Map -Advanced> Offline Mode (Box should not be checked)

Also, there are some maps that are no longer available. If so, you would only be able to view previously cached tiles.
To check if map is available, go to-

Settings> Map-Advanced> Online Maps    and see if it is listed. If so, make sure it is checked/selected.

Hmm. Link to the Antimap works fine for me.

Interesting concept. It is similar to map quick-switch, but in vertical instead of horizontal, and not manual, but automagic.

I'm assuming you'r talking Locus to Locus.
I don't know of any way to do true two-way syncing, someone might eventually create an addon for that.
The following method is still one-way, but would be more compact that import/export-

Create a fresh Backup with the Backup Manager located in the Functions Menu.
In your file browser, go to-  Locus/Backup and send that zip file to your other device, place in Locus/backup.
In the other device, go to Backup Manager, and do a RESTORE.

BTW Menion, the Backup Manager is DATA. It belongs in the DATA MANAGER :-)

Hmm. I would not be interested in the altitude plot. but in the horizontal.
I can set Locus to record at once per second, then I can walk the 150 meters to my mailbox, and generate a usable track. Or I can jump in my car, and drive at 120 km/hr to the store, and generate a usable track. So if the coaster ride is 2.8 km as stated,and the maximum speed is 42 km/hr, why couldn't I generate a usable track for that?
Unless you are implying gynta, that in the mountains, that the gps accuracy is so degraded as to make the data useless.

Here is an interim solution, though no shorter-

Download the free app "GPS Status & Toolbox" (a Locus co-app) from Google Play Store.
In Locus Functions, use the new "Add Link-Program" feature to add above app to Right Panel.
Click on that icon to open app.
Click Menu.
Click Tools
Click "Manage A-GPS State.
A menu opens.
The "Download" button does the same thing as the Locus button, refreshes A-GPS data.
The "Reset" button, which Locus does not have, simply clears A-GPS data.

The app also provides some handy info which locus does not, such as DOP/HDOP/VDOP.

It would be nice if Locus had a second Satellite page, with all of the above features,
therefore eliminating the need for the co-app.

Also, my Garmin GPS 60CSx, which I never use anymore   , always starts up in the SAT page.
It would be nice if Locus could be set to do the same.

Nice! THX! Works well. One could almost use a button on Quick-switch for changing themes.
