Title: ANT+ support on Android 11
Post by: atoy40 on November 06, 2022, 10:50:38
Hello,

My Xiaomi Redmi Note 9s has just upgraded to android 11, but I'm now unable to connect to ant+ devices (it was working perfect on android 10). When I try to connect a device, Locus (4.12.1) tells ant+ is not available on the phone. I've already checked all ant+ related packages are installed

There is a thread on the antplus forum about android 11, may be it can help :

Thanks
Anthony.

Hello Anthony,
latest Locus Map version? Is everything OK in the ANT+ tester (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.quantrity.anttester)?

I'm using a Xiaomi phone myself, and as far as I know Xiaomi is no longer supporting Ant+ since Android 11. Ant+ in general is a dying out technology, even latest Samsung phones aren't suporting it any more.

Thanks Sonny, then there is not much I may do. Anthony may this only confirm with mentioned ANT+ tester.

Are there any phones that support Ant?

You can still use FreeText search in GsmArena web: https://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?sFreeText=ANT

This gives quite precise results, anyway rather double-check before buy...

You will need an adapter (USBC-to-USB OR Micro USB-to-USB) that will allow you to plug your ANT+ USB dongle into your Android phone or tablet.
