Title: External App for navigation (Geocaching)
Post by: pix on September 18, 2022, 15:49:27
Hello together,

just a short question relating to "navigation to cache" in LM4 Gold.

When I type on a cache I can choose between different options how to guide to a cache.
In section "External apps" at the moment I have only two options
-Street View
-Navigation
Both apps presuppose a active mobile phone connection.
In Locus Map Pro it was possible to select an app, which was installed separately by myself.

Question:
How to choose another app for navigation except the apps written above?

Thanks for your support

Do you have any other navigation apps on your phone?

Yes, I have installed Magic Earth as external app for navigation but I'm not able to select this one for navigation.

Maybe Google does not recognize the app as a navigation app.

Tested myself and I agree with @balloni55
It is a pure LM4 problem why it doesn't work.

Would be nice when the problem would be solved by Locus.

Thanks to the support team in advance

Hi guys,

there are two methods how Locus Map detect & share location ...

1. detect registered navigation apps. This is done in the point navigation menu > bottom "Navigation apps". If the app is not here, it means is not able to handle "google.navigation:q=" request.

2. detect mapping apps. This is done in the point "share" menu > "Other map apps". Here should be all apps that is able to handle very basic "geo:0,0?q=" request. I believe that all map-based alls should be able to do this. So give a try if your missing app isn't here.

Thanks, I didn't know that either. So now I can share train stops POI with the train navigator.
