Hi, there is currently no deep integration between these two apps. So only what you may do is to place the OsmGo button into the side functions panel.

I tried to learn more about this app but the link https://dofabien.github.io/OsmGo/ in the Google Play store is broken.

In Classic 3.62 long press on the right sidebar and then "change panel" . Next the + button for link to app. OSM GO is in the list.

and if you use presets you have to add the external app in the respective preset via edit

Thanks I got the launch button in locus but can anybody explain why this is better than the current locus interface directly in to osm?

There is no interface in Locus to change POI in OSM.  But you can do that with OSMgo. The goal is to integrate OSMgo into Locus. Then I can say in LoPoi....POI change and get to the corresponding POI in OSMgo.
