Title: <extensions> in imported .gpx files
Post by: ForestCat on August 18, 2021, 23:22:05
Hi,
Hoping someone could provide some clarification.

When files are exported from Locus, the resulting gpx contains the xmlns:locus="http://www.locusmap.eu"> namespace, as well as the <locus:activity>, <gpx_style:line>, etc tags.
My question is what does locus do with the tags that exist in gpx files that are imported into the Locus database? Are they preserved somehow, or do these tags affect the way that either the track or metadata are displayed within locus?
Thanks!

Hi,
these tags were created because Locus Map has more options/settings than is officially supported by the GPX files. Re-import of these files should correctly set all included parameters back. Is there any specific that interest you?

Thanks.  I'm trying to consolidate 10 years worth of tracks/waypoints from many different devices and s/w into Locus.  I was just wondering where there was value in cleaning up/standardizing the xml first, adding locus:activity, etc., since I don't know what, if any info is thrown away/preserved during import.
Is there a Locus xml extensions reference?

I never had time to create one, sorry.
