Missing online map swisstopo. Only satellite and winter are available.
Swiss offline topo map in the Store is not a new feature!?
The problem is still available with 4.3.0. I will work with Pro now and hope to quickly find the error. I hope I know how that went.
My last recorded track can not be saved, as in a beta version before. What shall I do, to stop the record? Locus crashes, I have send the feedback.

Curious my tablet PlayStore shows LM4.3.0 in list & the upgrade is OK. Phone has LM4.2.1.4 but no update is available.
from PlayStore > Locus Map 4 > Open button is displayed > Manage Apps > Back > Open button changed to Update button. All good but weird.
@menion - double tap now correctly toggles side panel visibility - thanks.
I note in 4.3.0 a new blank (wasted space) bottom panel. In my settings I've tried Bottom function panel: full & partial auto-hide, but I can't get rid of this. See comparison in attached screen cap - top = March 2021, bottom = 4.3.0
New version doesn't show recently made GPS log
see attached screen cap - right side function panel icons are correctly scaled according to config.cfg dev_gui_main_rescale_value, in my case 1.2 (default 1.0) whereas bottom panel function icons ignore this scaling setting ;-(
so, another reason why I avoid using the bottom panel, which was hidden in LM4.2.1.4 but is now displayed even when the panel is empty
I found out what the mistake triggers.
In the beginning everything is ok, normal behavior. If I then open the data manager and close again, then it starts with empty control panels.
No matter what I do, the mistake is always there. I have found an action to stop the error.
When I zoom the card, so caches and poi are very tight. And then select a selection, then a selection comes to select the correct (see picture).
Now I do not choose anything and close the selection by wiping down.
Now the mistake is gone.
As soon as I open the data manager opens the error again.

You are missing hiking swiss topo maps in the list? Please check the "Available maps" option in the top toolbar of map manager. May you have disabled these maps some time ago?
Offline hiking swisstopo maps in the Store were in the app for a few years already. The difference is they were quite pricey. Now, they are for free > nice gesture from the Swiss...

Hmm, I still do not see any problem, no matter what I do on my own device. What device/Android version are you using? May you please also try to toggle
- app settings > Controlling > Display > Full screen
- app settings > Controlling > Display > unlock the screen
Does any of these two settings have any effect?

yes, I know. This is what cause the troubles with auto-hide before. I have to correctly set the visibility of the bottom panel, so if you make content visible, the bottom panel has to be visible even if is empty. We may experiment with it later, but for now, this should be a safe solution.
Scaling of panels: I wrote before that this feature is not (and won't be for now) supported in LM4. I've not yet removed this "support" from the side panel, but sorry > it will come. Panels are a little bit bigger then in LM Pro, so this scaling should not be necessary.

Ah damn, one tiny issue. Thanks @baegas! I'll have to probably publish one more version today or in the morning (cause I'm then leaving for a few days on a small vacation).
Just installed 4.3.1. The track editor doesn't show the map, at least not on my Android 9 phone. Full-screen is off.
- Tap a recently-recorded track.
- Tap the three dots in the corner, Modify track, Cut inner part.
Result: map screen is blank, with just some buttons. Can't see what you're editing.
I think it can wait until you're back from vacation. Enjoy. :)

I use Samsung S8 with Android 9. If I turn off the full screen, the problem has disappeared. If I turn full screen, the problem is back.
Unlock The Screen has no effect.

This is the most unreliable version of Locus I ever experienced: empty bottom panel, tap on track -> empty slide up, themes -> empty and so on. Bringing Locus to background and back to front again it works one (1) time then all is empty again.
Has anyone testet this version before releasing it??? Nice to have such a mess on weekend :(

Here's a glitch I consider minor.
Cloud sync doesn't always trigger. I have the newest released version in my phone, older but most recent beta in the tablet. WiFi-only is set on both, auto-sync is on in both. I returned from a short trip and had WiFi for the first time in days. I had the app open in the phone, WiFi was available and there were un-sync'd changes ("5 days ago"), but the sync never happened until I finally triggered it, by editing a point..
On the tablet, I saw a message that disappeared quickly, about "Invalid sync request, too old time", or words to that effect. So I sync'd manually.

@menion is there a workaround to fully hide #safe# but empty bottom panel? total waste of space at present
On Note 8 with Android OS 9
If you set it to full screen in Menu > Control, the map is not visible from the bottom panel menu button and quick map switching.

LM4.2.1.4: there is a bug in the recently introduced "active track recording track - get track stats" - see video https://youtu.be/o2Zn0bF0rVM - tap track > stats are only displayed for short period then immediately hides the stats and returns to the map. Video shows this happening twice.
It appears to be that when there is no GPS movement the "track stats" remain displayed, but while moving any subsequent map refresh doesn't realize the "track stats" are visible.

thanks for the very precise video. Two devices I have with Android 9+ do not have this issue. Anyway, I've reverted some changes made to the full-screen system, so in tomorrow's coming Beta version, you may give a try, thanks!

I'm sorry. In this rare case, I do not think that issue is directly on my side. Unfortunately, I also had a small mentioned vacation so the fix of this issue had to wait till now. Fortunately, a "disabled full-screen" workaround works.

Forget on the "Full-screen". Just check normal not-full-screen mode. There, on Android 9+, the map should be visible under system panels.

@Menion - prior to v4.2.1.4 if there were no functions assigned to a panel, then the panel wasn't displayed. This seemed logical to me & no comments from others. But since 4.2.1.4 a panel is displayed even when empty. Yes I remember the new toolbar was a bit too wide for my taste, but a) no big deal because double tap hiding often and b) Menion insisted (iirc)

This is the exact behavior that works since begin (somewhere in 2012 I think). When I made this small update yesterday, I was more thinking about completely removing of this dialog. Anyway "Yes" should be the base option that you should mostly use (usually GPS is already enabled).
Hmm, if there will be interest from more people to allow some kind of "Disabled GPS" work, I think we should create a better solution and remove these dialogs at all. Something like the global "Keep GPS disabled if is disabled" option ...
This is why: On planning, when at home, I add embedded waypoints to planned tracks... Like "you're halfway through". No GPS needed at home!
I think that dialog is useless at that point. At leastvwhen I add a wpt from screen center. And: Locus has enough capability to turn on GPS when really needed (on recording, navigation...)
EDIT: I notice it comes up with this question probably because of the "My location" default.(screenshot) Hmm, I prefer map center mostly...
Perfectly understand. But if "map center" is preferred, why not change it? :)

LM4.3.2.2 - has been freezing a few times (5) in "desktop" testing. I've not had this before, or only a long time ago. Maybe ~30s Android displays "Locus Map isn't responding - close | wait", but no option to send a report. Not sure quite how to reproduce yet but I've been doing lots of double taps/ mucking around with Presets/ moving function buttons. double taps on buttons instead of map (by mistake) seems enough. Track recording is off; GPS is orange (inside). I've probably never tried this before. Timing/ deadlock issue?
I then disabled GPS, and no amount of mis-directed double taps caused crash. 5m minutes of double taps & no crash. Unsure how to provoke now ;-(
PS (6 hrs later): just experimenting with track folder styles, and 2 lockups. Not related to any double taps. Also different behavior: a really slow response to Back tap without lockup, then OK again.
With the current beta, the problems in full screen mode are still there.
But something has changed. The menu no longer disappears. but i still have the empty map content panel. Now it is like that when I switch the menu on briefly, the problem is gone again. When I go back to the track manager, it's back. Popups are not opened either.
Several people have already reported the problem to the helpdesk. One yesterday too. I tell you to turn off full screen mode for now.
Lockup here as well, after start, oam map and theme not loaded.
Mostly no lockup, but quite bad performance on map dragging (edit: not always. Sometimes good performance. hmmm).

always reassuring when I'm not the only one grizzling; @tapio - no HTTP traffic here when lockup (Wifi & mobile disabled); no other foreground apps, nothing unusual/ obvious in terms of user activity at time of lockup; experienced with GPS disabled & enabled; no track recording

Changed to the new fullscreen, really love that maximum experience 8)
No problems occured so far, system buttons appearing nicely with drop-down of top of screen together with the android-statusbar/notificationbar.
Realised that i- icons are missing with LoPoints (offline): Acco>Guesthouse, FoodDrink> Biergarten, Shopping>Farm..
Honestly, the whole point-experience need some attention, put some eye-symbols with numbers next to each entry, next to groups, etc. Like points or tracks..
Show screen contents > LoPoints(offline)>eye-symbol directly activates 'Points around, not sth reg. content and visibility..very special and irritating. That feature should be available via longpress IMHO.
Well, nothing new at all, don't remember correctly. Maybe needs some try and use in RL-scenarios, unknown environment etc.

Lopoints generally deserve fundamental rework (ui, workflow, filtering, category presets etc etc) IMO, but it's all a question of dev time. To me that would rank at #1 of bigger projects.

I recognised that dimming map to highlight LoPoints-overlay would also be helpful (as a method to temporarily higher the contrast of LoPoints<>background, as punch-in-action) ;D
New Beta version 4.3.2.3 just uploaded.
Most of the problems should be fixed. At least the random stuck when panning with the map. @fresichneider reported that full-screen still cause problems. I'm unable to find or simulate any problem, stupid :-\. Anyway, I'll keep looking, but full-screen on Android 9+ is something I would really like to remove completely ...

Full screen is not yet possible. It would be a shame, I love full screen. But I have now ordered a Xiaomi redmi note 10 Pro. I hope that it works with full screen.

When I copy something to the clipboard to paste it immediately I know that, in all other cases the displayed content is useless and confusing.

For some 10-seconds I had system buttons panel without left button, only middle and right visible. Wanted to take a screenshot but it changed to the normal panel, usual,correct one at some point.

maybe you help me. Simple task -> multi-cache, few steps, and equation that computes final waypoint. What are your steps, where you write variables from all waypoints and how you compute the final waypoint? Example cache (https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC4RC6R) close to our house. You obtain ABCD values and have to compute final stage.
And small info: did you tried to plan a route over caches? I probably didn't because it was useless without more info about caches. So this (screen) is the change. Values are visible probably on more places like "Nearest points" etc.

I'm talking about Android 9+. Check how it looks on my device (screenshot with new normal mode and full-screen mode). Full-screen is just useless now as it displays top black panel. Normal mode nicely covers the whole screen with the map. It should look similar on all A9+ devices ...

No, that's simply not the case. At least for my (Samsung) devices (A10 and 11), "real" full-screen gets rid of all system panels. They only reappear by sliding up from the bottom or down from the top. Considerably more display space for Locus (or any app). Your "black upper panel" rather looks like a bug to me, never seen that on any Android device in Full-screen.
So my vote is "Keep Full-screen"!
Huawei with Android 10 same, fullscreen as it has always been. It's not a big deal but nice to have.

I'm facing a big error with new beta.
Cannot even start locus..when tapping on the icon for first time after Installing new Beta, I saw the "what's new" screen. After clicking on next, locus stopped and I got back to android desktop main screen.
Maybe useful: before Installing the beta, I tried to update the GC votes in a Geocache list with about 6000 points which brought an error: locus stopped.
Restarted phone many times..
What to do?

Tip: Write the user ID in the user profile. I have added it accordingly to. Menion can call up the report if necessary.

- small calculations i do with splitscreen, see screenshot example. Attention, values are fake!

thanks for the ID. It seems that the app now cannot read your data from the database as I expected. For some reason, the error is now "SQLiteReadOnlyDatabaseException · attempt to write a read-only database" even when app just tries to open the database for "Read only", weird.
My suggestion: do a manual backup of the Locus/data/database directory. Then delete this directory. Start Locus Map and it should create a new directory with empty databases. When all will work, close the app, delete new empty databases (directory "database") and copy back old data.

Hmm, this helped me a lot with the last caches, but understand that it may also contain some old "clipboard" data. Oki, I may hide it for now. I'll try later to detect if the clipboard contains an equation and display it only in this case.

but if the cacheowner makes some effort in creating the cache, the final waypoint with the calculating forms is created there
Hi Menion, just had a look at the "Set working directory" feature.
On my S10 it would not allowany move in the internal SD. Why? The .../maps and .../mapsvector together have about 30 GB. Maybe not the average user. But also not an average device with 27 GB free of 512.
In any case you shall expect quite some trouble, if this procedure hits the broader user base.
So, what are the otions?
You already provide the option to define alternate locations for backup, mapsVector and srtm.
Why not for .../maps?
As A11 further screws up the Android file system features (altough not to the level of iOS - yet), you are forced to move the standard app director to the private area /Android/data. But obviously you found a way to allow read/write for a subset of mass data.
Can you pls. shed some light on that whole subject, pls ?

Still not working after putting back die original Files into database dir.
With deleted files, everything is fine.
Seems that waypoints.db-journal is causing the error. All other original files are not causing the error.
But with deleted this special file in database dir, locus is starting and all's data is available in tracks and points. But what am I missing without the db-joutnal file?
Hmm, this is useless file, so simply delete it without worry.

The route data is not updated after shifting on the cant graph. I would always expect to display data from the place marked with a vertical blue line to the end of the route.
Which data you would like to update? Top line display a full summary of the whole track/route.
It did offer both, internal and external SD, but on the internal it complained "not enough space" (like described below).
So, with srtm and mapsVector also gone, the whole structure would be forced to private folders?
This is deadly. Mind the people sharing maps between apps (LMP/LM4, also others).
There must be other ways. Did you try to get file manager like exception? They do read and write and create whereever they want (after permission granted once).
There MUST be a smarter way than all private!

All Files Access
Some apps have a core use case that requires broad file access, such as file management or backup & restore operations. They can get All Files Access by doing the following:

The problem is that every time you start Navigate to, large navigation icons are displayed that don't suit me, and every time I have to set the Navigation-Appearance-Navigation panel to Small. what you see was in the app till version 4.3.0. In this version was introduced new full-screen mode that causes quite a lot troubles so in this Beta it is reverted to the old system - so black top useless panel on some devices.

Thanks for the advice on this setup option, I didn't know. The Navigation Bar is already displayed according to my ideas.

I fear the worst.
What I expect from Menion then is to allow read-only configuration for alternate srtm and mapVector, and of course adding read-only for extra vector maps and raster maps.
So people can at least populate those alternate via connection to PC or via ftp or alike.
Menion should also introduce something like "look at alternate srtm folder" (read-only), if not available, then find or supplement from/in private folder.
If he cannot fight Google head-on, then he must allow people to help themselves.
All stuff in private folders is unacceptable.
I will have a close look at what other geo apps are doing with Android 11 ...

Android builds that /Android/data etc structure also on the external SD, I guess apps will be able to write there as well. So maybe there is no need to be that afraid...
Must be in the interest of Google. Google maps saves offline maps there btw.
New versions LMA 4.3.3, LCA 3.54.3 have just been published on Google Play. They are more or less a bug-fix version, but with so long list of changes ... :P
It does not happen for some time to publish a version with so many weird and serious issues. It was not an intent of course anyway sorry ... I believe this should be a perfectly stable version. And if not, we have two more days before the weekend ;).
The only remaining issue are the blank side panels reported by @fresichneider. Give it a try please, I made a tiny change if it helps ... thanks all!

it will work like that. You already can choose this private folder on the SD card. With the new "File manager" in the latest versions, the app safely transfers all your data without any extra manual work. Maybe rather do a manual backup before, just for sure :).
This is interesting. Cloud Sync reports "Last update: in 24 minutes". That's mixing past and future. Does it mean, next update check in 24 minutes? (Now 23, oops 22.)
This message was on the tablet, which just received two syncs with the latest version. The sending device - phone - reports "xx minutes ago" as usual, also with the newest version. (Both devices report the same time-of-day, well, two minutes apart.)
BTW, first impressions are that the points-list confusion about visible state, which I'd reported before, is no longer happening. I'll keep an eye on it. :)
;D this black top-panel is more a trade-off to real-fullscreen(c). What was the pain about going completely full? Maybe compatability throughout the Android-universe..
Well my system panels have partially transparency, so I can decide dropping bottom and gaining that black top-stripe or having panels with light look+feel. Yeah, isn't having choices the thing about customisation.. :)

Previously, the track of the saved route hid automatically after restarting Locus Map.
Now in the route manager and hide it manually.

This was introduced upon request not only passes as the 4 was in BETA.
The track record of the route traveled only disappeared when the route was saved and after closing the application.
For many people recording their daily activities, it was a great help because they did not have to hide the recorded trace each time.
Not deleting traces causes chaos on the application map.

Yup, you removed it as a bug. No, I was just saying that (show/hide) could be an additional property of the recording intent. Or it could be an option for recording profiles. So please support the mass track recorders,who have to do housekeeping all the time otherwise 🙏
I spoke too soon. Visibility of points is still ... strange ... after a sync.
I have a folder of geocaches in both devices. Checked both devices this morning, all ~2800 caches are visible in both. Then loaded 3 PQs in a single step on the phone. Some caches were in more than one PQ, so I said "overwrite" ("geocaches will be merged").
After auto-sync, on the tablet only about half the points are indicated as visible in the list. (I have show-after-sync turned on.) Can't tell if this matches their true visibility. I don't think the "about half" here matches the number of caches merged above, which should be a smaller fraction.
Unfortunately I'm going off-grid now for a few days, so can't discuss further, sorry. I'll keep an eye on it. It's not crucial. Thanks.

Certainly, I assumed one myself, but I do not count it.
If I record the home-work-home route every day, and a few other trips, the map becomes illegible due to the number of lines.
Please think it over again or add a choice somewhere to make it work.

There is still an error with an empty panel. But no longer important for me. I now have my Xiaomi with Android 11 and there are no problems in full screen. I will only use the S8 for the first beta tests. If the S8 is ok, then I test it on the Xiaomi. So I always have a device that is good.

Anyway I just made a bunch of minor changes to full-screen system, so next Beta > you will see.
In the stabilized GPS screen, when I tap the share button, nothing happens except that it returns to main screen. Edit. And creates a temporary POI.

I use the dash board nearly all of the time. But it disappeares every 2 or 3 days. I have to manually activate it again. Why??
I've noticed that sometimes the data in the dash board is not updated. Especially current altitude.
For example the altitude is at 60m constantly although I walk along a road with an inclination. The current altitude (shown at the cursor) is correct but the altitude shown in the dash board still shows an old value. After a while it is then correct again.... Any explanation for that?

this "Share" button use exactly the same function as the common app Share > other map apps. Why it is handled directly by the Locus Map may be because a) Locus Map is set as a default app that opens this type of request or b) there is no other app that should handle this in your device.

Refresh of altitude > current dashboard refresh is based on the frequency of newly received GPS location. When there is no new GPS location, there will be (almost) no refresh. May this be the problem?
Tested yesterday with the official version and my new phone. I liked full screen very much. I then had a problem where I still don't know if Locus is to blame. Therefore I have not reported it yet (DE forum)
So I tested Beta 4.3.3.2 right away. After the start everything is ok (full screen as before). When you touch the screen for the first time, a black bar appears at the bottom with the control buttons. This hides the bottom bar and menu. It doesn't go away anymore.

there was no change in the backup system for a long time. I do not like these auto backup/sync/download systems. They use android so-called "Work manager" and it is a black box to me. Don't know ... setup it again does not help?

Yes, the problem with the black bar only occurs when the full screen is activated.
At the start everything is ok (picture 1)
The first time you touch the screen, the bar appears. (picture 2)
If I click menu the first time I touch it, it doesn't open, but the black bar is activated.
When the black bar is there, I can still see the menu and the data manager a little. When I click on one, the corresponding one opens. When I close it, the bar is gone again. As soon as I touch the screen again, the bar comes back right away.
The whole thing makes no difference, immersive on / off.
I didn't even know the immersive mode. I tested it with normal screen.
I've attached the pictures.
It's more transparent at the top than at the bottom.

I once read that you wrote so that you wanted to take a closer look at the topic of notch.
The idea concerns the full screen. The upper and lower bars are not visible here. Everything is a card. But the notch covers part of the map. Personally, I don't think it's that bad. Because as an alternative there is only a black bar and then I see even less of the map.
But there is still the option to display the status bar in immersive mode. The notch is already taken into account there. Then I still have important information visible. I have currently placed this on the map via a dashboard (time, battery).
But in all cases the navigation bar below is hidden and appears when you swipe from the edge of the screen.
MIUI offers the option of hiding the navigation bar for certain apps. But Locus does not react to this setting.

I am expecting "Select all" on top - anyone else? It is the most likely thing to do. "Deselect all" is probably rarely or never used...

A few observations/ comments while getting new routing data:
- notification center > map item downloads - should be "X items remain", not "X items remains" (attached)
- notification center > offline elevation data download - error: bad gateway code 502 with other bad text characters - error cleared when exited then restarted, but not when Refresh icon was tapped (attached)
- "LocusStoreMyHist" - the title could be improved, maybe just "My History"? no room for screen cap - limit of 4 attachments ;-(
- LocusStoreMyHist - tapping Android Back button is ignored - there is a brief "progress bar" at the top but impossible to go back; tapping the Back arrow <- however works
- notification center > download of routing data - the text under the progress bar toggles between "Downloading..." and "Loading..." - just stick with one name or the other so the remaining text doesn't "bounce" around (attached)
- Route Planner > drag up from bottom > temporary route - "bug" icon at bottom right side - no longer needed? "Old screen" & "Static Image" buttons? (attached)
- Route Planner > drag up from bottom > temporary route > menu ">" button - could this be changed to dot-dot-dot button to be consistent with other similar bottom-right-side menu buttons?

Any interesting news? Sure, after two months of work, this version has a completely new "Sensors manager" system wrote from scratch. Currently, it mainly allows to connect multiple sensors of the same type at once, but is sooo flexible, that more will come soon ;).
Warning: it is the first Beta test of this feature, so be aware of possible problems and in case of a problem, report it and use the previous "MapGooglePlay_4.3.3.3_1031_beta" version. Thanks!

Missing "news" is because I did not change the version code of the APK file. You may see that both files on Google Drive have the value "1031" in their name. It means, they are both "same versions" and may be easily switched. Android allows to upgrade to the higher version without a problem, but downgrade is possible only by un-install. When I generated apps with the same ID, it allows changing the new version in case of any problem to older, without worry. Locus/data/sensors
files with the extension .data from a few KB up to 11MB have accumulated to ~2GB over the last 2 years.
A new file is created every time LMP and LM4 are started.
What are these files for and why are they created?

"data/sensors" directory is filled by content because you have enabled logging sensors data in "Expert settings > Record sensors data". This is a useful tool for some post-processing, but not for common usage.

@menion - does there need to be a screen update for this merging/ extracting? It is relatively fast compared to the downloading, so the text switches around for no very good reason. Very minor detail.
I am wondering: is the checkbox in the first screenshot obsolete? IMO it is. It is achieved by the eye symbol, 2nd screenshot.
@tapio - excellent observation. In fact I was going to ask a related question, but now you have solved it for me:- why when I have <main menu > LoPoints > Show on map:unchecked> but still 100's of POI appear on the map until each time I <clear temp points>. It appears there is a conflict/ fight with <Map screen content > LoPoints>.
If I check/uncheck <main menu > LoPoints > Show on map> then it should at least also be reflected in the <Map screen content > LoPoints> setting, and visa versa?
Or, as part of the LoPoints promotion from beta to fully working, this will be better resolved ;-)

- ANT: Connects fine as power meter, but seems to be adding up the watts when riding instead of displaying the current power value. Added up >20000 W after a few meters.
Did not display the cadence info the sensor sends. I also could not add the sensor again as a cadence sensor. - BTLE: Connected fine, displays cadence nicely, but no power.
Further issue with speed sensor: Connected fine per ANT and BTLE, but the wheel circumference is limited to 999 mm. I would need ~2325 mm.
For power meters, an option to display the average power over a few (configurable) seconds would be great.

it appears (from user's point of view) these are 2 independent settings, when logically (?) they should be the one setting; just two places to access. It sure had me confused, still after all these years ;-(

Ah, thanks that's the reason. I deleted Lomaps the other day,I always use OAM because MFV4. And if you display offline Lopoints via the eye symbol, poi from both databases are shown, ie many duplicates.

Tried with my powermeter "Assioma Uno" but not able to connect (neither BTLE nor ANT), sensor could not be found.
Power meter connects and works fine in Assioma setup app and other apps (i.e. Urban Biker). Other apps were completely shut down before trying to connect power meter to Locus.
Locus connects fine to my BT heart rate monitor.
Please let me know which further information could be helpful.

the checkbox in the "LoPoints offline" is redundant, you are correct. Anyway, it is necessary for Locus Map Pro so till I start work on the new offline LoPoints screen, it will have to stay there. The system in the LM4 is some kind of hack to allow work with offline LoPoints no matter what map is currently selected.
Anyway "offline LoPoints" > later. Now it is really not an ideal time because it will be a bigger task and we do not yet have a ready new generator that will convert our new online LoPoints (that already contain a lot more info than old offline) to offline.

- BTLE: cadence is supported because I have BT cadence sensor at home but for "power" data, I need to purchase a power sensor. Sorry, not yet done :).

Average power value: I'll be playing with it once I have it home. I also expected that some average for last few seconds will be necessary.

That exactly is the problem ;), unfortunately the sensor is not visible when trying to add and consequently searching as BT4 or ANT+ power meter.

I had to reboot the phone after installing 4.3.3.5 for the sensors to be visible.

I'm finishing some remaining tasks: testing reported problem and see nothing unusual to be true. What means "incorrectly"? If this problem still exists, recorded NMEA messages will be necessary here.
@schugur- turning BT on should be fixed in the next version.
- your sensor is visible right because it supports cadence as well. App detects it as cadence sensor and use it.

Sorry, might have mixed things up, looks like I still have to test ANT+ connectivity in more detail.
I used ANT+ connectivity of the power meter so far only with a TwoNav Cross (https://www.twonav.com/en/gps/cross) navigation/tracking device.

Searching my "Assioma Uno" power meter through BT4 device unfortunately only returns "No device available". Manually turning on BT search on my smartphone did not help either.
Yes, in other apps BT connection not only shows power but also cadence.

@schugur, @Scooty, I've today implemented support for the Bluetooth Power meter. I do not own one, so functionality is not guaranteed! Give it a try. If not work, try to create a log for me by enabling "Log to file" over long-click on the app main menu and after it fails, send me a log from Locus/logs directory.
To make BT GPS work in the new beta version, it was a different process than before, so I spent time looking for the process.
Anyway, the new beta version is very good, there is nothing wrong with the satellite display

Wheel circumference is OK now, bluetooth is started automatically when searching for sensors.

May you please create a log as I wrote before? Because cadence should work, but probably is not read correctly and in the log should be the visible reason, thanks!

Hi Menione, distance labels work well at passed routes. But they are not displayed for routes imported into Locus. See SCR. Maybe he would not have to display the km symbol.

I think you added a line at the km places on track? It is hardly visible. I am not even sure if there is such lines.
It is not a final solution, but for now, global approach, yes. It has two huge advantages = it is very quick compared to the editing of track styles and it also does not trigger sync for every change. Anyway, I think, that this is a kind of feature, that needs to be used for some time to find out if the current approach is ideal or not.
If there is km markers (small line) on track, they are close to invisible. Ah, I looked closer, a blue cross.
They'd also be useful on planner tracks!

for me also decimal values are displayed, i prefere also integer values since only full kilometres are displayed
Omg Menion is lightning fast. Better visibility now and they are in tracks without timestamps now. And in route planner.
In route planner, you always restart km counting with every shaping point, I think it is not good this way.
As for the cross markers, IMO you should use them over all ZL. Otherwise confused with simplified WP.
Show or hide distance markers in route planner should get an option there. Maybe even independent from global setting.

Because I want to make things easy (at the start at least), I'm trying to re-use the functionality I already have. So in this case, existing labels (which are quite limited in setup). I've anyway discovered my hidden option to change size and color (now is used track style base color > clearly visible labels for more tracks now), so a new version (same name!) was just generated.
I've also created a hack to display labels in route planners across all segments!
Now those labels are much lovelier IMO! I like it. Also, the labels rotate nicely on map rotate.
Not super important, but the distance labels have no cross marker in the route planner.
I think an independent setting inside the route planner would be useful. I can see myself having 1km markers turned on there all the time (really useful for planning!), while in normal operation I will rarely turn on, just if needed.
These red crosses are more pronounced, but are used to indicate the rescue point. Does the small blue arrow be used? I apologize for the permanent comments.

new icons in the route planner are interesting. It has nothing to do with work on the markers, but it is probably a side effect of fix of incorrectly computed travel times. Hmm, how to simulate it ... what route and routing profile are you using?
And yes, markers should be visible on all visible tracks on the map, except tracks where I specify not to display them (like segments in the Route planner for now).

@menion I disagree, surely this "km" text is a waste of valuable space,
see screen caps (note this track was out-and-back; there are way too many labels for ZL <= 14. At ZL 15 & 16 they are mostly OK, then ZL 17+ there are too few or none! Can they be dynamically adjusted to just have 3 or 4 at any given ZL? This scheme then works for high ZL where only a few 100m are displayed. PS - new beta/ same name - seems to be better
Can the labels be toggled from the Route Planner?

Today I rebuilt a 40km track via a picture overlay. With a lot of shaping points and hence, as many unwanted waypoints. And as you know they can only be deleted one by one. And what happened at around waypoint 30? I accidentally deleted the track instead of the wp...
Further testing: They are inconsistent. They do not happen at every shaping point now. And they are all called "Start point" if that helps.

In todays update, have you improved the "unwanted waypoint" issue? It's solved for me. In Route planner, on first shaping point, a waypoint is created. On subsequent shaping oints, waypoints are sometimes created but instantly disappear. Edit: or after the second next shaping point... After saving the track, the waypoints are gone - good.
1km markers have no "km" any more - good. I like them as they are now.
4.3.3.8_1035: for me at ZL9 to ZL11 there are a little too many distance markers (eg attached), but it's just minor, and now without "km" in label, it is near perfect. Thanks @Menion.

Sorry for taking so long. I just checked also with another phone which has no ANT capability. The powermeter connects fine with IPBike, it displays both cadence and power also when connected by BTLE. I also installed Locus 4.3.3.8 on that phone, but also got "only" power ;)

Menion, we discussed the trackpoint screen and users agreed, for track(point) analysis the Time of the point is most crucial, followed by speed maybe... Now you've put the rather static address up to almost the top. Please put it down! Even "From start/To end" are below the address...
You could gain more space by putting the navigation arrows to the upper section, IMO they need no headline.

I like the new Distance Markers, but disagree with removing the unit. Now they look like tram or metro line numbers. I really liked Josef's proposal with a big number and the unit small in a second line. That looked nicely like a milestone. Please consider...

Do not understand why a "joke"? In the list of tracks and also in the track detail, the time, when the track was recorded, is visible right at the top. So this info was doubled without any reason. The new name is created by the city of the starting point and the activity of the profile. What is wrong with it? Btw. you may simply change it in the profile settings ...

When you look into a folder the most prominent feature is the list of NAMES in bold letters. On the other hand, when you start multiple trips from the same place they will all look like the same. Hmm, it is an unwanted side-effect for older profiles I was not aware of. Because this "naming" is a new feature, older profiles do not have saved original "{t}" value, so this new Beta overwrites it. Anyway, more people think that new naming, that replaces previous duplicate date/time value, is not the ideal solution?
The route name setting feature still does not have the help of help. It would be difficult to create a drop-on offer of list names?

We discussed this for quite a long time last week and this is the result. Value you suggest, so {t}, {city}, {activity} should be quite long. Anyway, you are of course correct, that this change should not affect already existing recording profiles. I'll try to update it somehow. Unfortunately, profiles that already changed with this version, have to be modified manually, sorry for this.

FWIW my profile template name was not affected. I would suggest a track/filename more compact & unique like {t}"-"<ascending-serial#> or just {t} if time is included to make the name unique (I can't recall). The other suggestions are heavily dependent on personal preference, and will often result in a quite long name that subsequently has to be mostly partially deleted by many users.

It was long two months. Not everyone will find the new "Sensors manager" useful, so at least "Distance marks" will make a smile to someone :).

Photos for geocache logs are not stored in full resolution. They are immediately reduced to the smaller size and stored directly in the Locus\data\config\gcFieldNotes.db file.
