Title: otrk2.xml format conversion
Post by: papizac on June 02, 2020, 08:39:53
Hello
I have IGN map files in: "otrk2.xml", is it possible to convert them into files compatible with Locus Maps, and how?
Thank you for your answers.

Hello,
I do not have personal experience with this format, but usually most of the map formats is possible to convert with mapc2mapc application, so you may give it a try.

Hello,
I looked at the mapc2mapc software does not take the .xml extensions. But thank you anyway.

Hello ... hmm, isn't this otrk2 format of OruxMaps app? Did you tried to add your maps into Locus Map (into Locus/maps folder or any subfolder)? Because app should be able to load these maps, so give it a try.

Hello
my problem is that the files "otrk2.xml are contained in a folder representing a region. So there are a multitude of them each time. I tried to put a complete folder in Locus, but it does not take it . Could I try to delete part of the extension: "otrk2.xml" in ".xml".

Hmm not sure. The app should anyway load a directory with a single xml file and single map file. Multiple files in single directory were never tested. If this does not work, you may share some small map with me so I may test it on my own device more precisely.

Hello
I am attaching a file contained in a folder to you. There are twenty folders to make a department. If Locus can read it, how to put the twenty folders so that they come together to form this department?

Hello, hmm, but you have also a map sqlite file with the same name as this ortk2.xml file, don't you?

Simply: Locus Map should be able to read a single X.otrk2.xml + OruxMapsImages.db (or X.sqlite) in the directory. So if you create this structure

Locus
- maps
-- myMap
--- Aveyron-16000 15 (01).otrk2.xml
--- Aveyron-16000 15 (01).sqlite

It should work correctly. If such map won't work, share whole map with me (so not just XML file), thanks.

Hello
The entire map of the Aveyron department is designed like this:
Aveyron folder
    - folder Aveyron-16000 15 (01)
               Aveyron-16000 15 (01) .otrk2.xml
               OruxMapsImages.db
     -folder Aveyron-16000 15 (02)
                 Aveyron-16000 15 (02)
                 OruxMapsImages.db
And this repeated 34 times, more
       -folder  Aveyron-64000 file 13 (1)
                     Aveyron-64000 13 (1) .otrk2.xml
                     OruxMapsImages.db
this repeated 3 times and finally once
          -folder Aveyron-128000 12
                    Aveyron-128000 13.otrk2.xml
                    OruxMapsImages.db

does that mean anything to you and what should i change to make it readable on Locus

To be true, I do not know.
I've wrote you above how this structure for single map should look like. Experiment with single map or share some data for the test.
