In 3.41 I see strange behaviour. When screen centering is on (only then) and I zoom in/out any map, after a while it goes automatically to some "predefined" scale. I have just changed a phone but the problem is persistent.

most probably enabled auto-zoom feature (in the app settings > controlling > map screen).
Be aware that it may also be enabled automatically when starting navigation as we wrote about it in this blog post (https://www.locusmap.eu/news-release-3-40-0/).
