Title: Clean up strm folder / .hgt files?
Post by: JGeo on November 12, 2019, 20:22:50
Is there an easy way to clean up strm folder with .hgt files. Preferably for a specific area. My memory is filling up. I cannot find an option for that in locus pro.

Hi, interesting question. No useful method to do this ...
Currently best, very user-friendly solution: delete "srtm" directory and over Locus Store in detail of LoMap for the required area, download new data manually again.

It depends on the proportions of delete versus keep.
If only some are obsolete, and they are geographically adjacent, then looking at the coordinates in quesions helps: N48E016.hgt is an example of such a file. And with a file manager (on Android, or - if connected - on Linux and Windows) you can easily search the pattern in question and pick the files to delete.

For what it's worth the hi-res elevation files are quite large so I only ever keep one country of HGT files in the Locus folder at a time. I keep the others on a PC with one folder per country.
