Locus Pro 3.32.2 - settings > Misc > Default Directories > crash when I select a new Backup directory /storage/emulated/0/Download/Locus/ although an identical selection process works perfect for the Export directory. I also observe the directory selection UI is different for the two - why? Export directory selection uses simple "file explorer" UI whereas Backup directory selection uses elaborate graphics with file cabinet picture. Now working in 3.32.2.2 beta thanks. Still unsure why using two different folder selection methods. One method in Export folder selection, but different in Backup folder selection. No mention of bug fix in release notes.

Separating problems into own topics is not a big problem, really ;). Sometimes it is even better because we then do not spam the main thread with the single one-person issue.

And difference: you may see on your own ;). And if now ... one method uses Google own system (these directories are then also writable for the app!), second, Locus file browser, then select directories only for read-only.

@menion - interesting - thanks for the info. For the use-case of Locus special directory selection would it be simpler & more consistent to use the Locus file browser for all directories? It seems more intuitive than Google's own system.
It is not possible. Only using this Google system result in the selection that also allows "write" option.
So if united, the only option is to use "Google system" for all selections.
And this is planned, once I remove support for Android 4.x devices, which complicate me a life here a lot :).
Fixed in beta 3.33.@ but still crashing in Pro 3.34?

Locus Pro 3.34.0 crash sequence:
- tap settings
- tap Miscellaneous
- tap Default directories
- tap Set backup/ directory
- select my own directory /storage/emulated/0/Download/Locus
- tap Select
- crash
It appears any directory other than subdirectory of /storage/emulated/0/Locus also causes crash.
This crash is however fixed in beta 3.33.2.3.

It is something weird in your version of Android. In log is an unexpected crash. Thanks to it I found more people stuck on this and also one hack that may help here. I do not know what exactly it does, but it should work :). So in next version ... thanks.
