Title: Display important points on different zoom levels
Post by: exaveal on January 17, 2018, 09:27:19
Hello all,

I'm already a long fan of locus maps for bicycle riding. Since I'm trying to use Locus also for hiking or getting around outside my own country I use offline maps from openandrumaps.

The biggest problems for me with locus and this maps are:

I have now tried maps.me and was wondered as the have the same map source: The rendering of the map does not have the first two problems and also the offline search is working really good. For example you can be sure, that always the well-known summits are displayed in low-zoom level.

Are these problems of the focus app? Or of the map material?

Well that's difficult question. We could say that it's caused by Locus but we have to also say that Locus supports multiple maps, multiple formats and this complicates the situation.
However to your points:
- label rotation: I'm sorry but can not solve it. We're limited by library, we use for rendering of data.  You can vote for this feature at http://help.locusmap.eu/topic/vector-maps-dont-rotate-labels-and-icons
- POIs please see the POI Beta featura that can highlight/show the point of interests around you.  http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:points:locus_maps_pois
- There is also the offline address search feature : http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:functions:search#offline_search

Please note that offline POIs and Offline address search requires the LoMaps maps that can be downloade from Locus store: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:maps_locusmaps
