Hi,
honestly I can't give the exact answer because data are downloaded directly from swisstopo servers. Aproximatly it'll be around 4.5GB for whole Switzerland - 60 x 65 MB + 15 x 40 MB (for map on the border)

If I calculate it correctly, the whole Swiss map costs 62640 locoins ~ 720,-€.  Crazy :o :o

Hmm yes, but ..

Peter, which scale best fit to our level 15? I think it should be 1:33.000 right? But the grid itself it based on swisstopo 1:50.000!

Check http://www.swisstopo.admin.ch/internet/swisstopo/en/home/products/maps/leisure/hiking.html, mainly http://www.swisstopo.admin.ch/internet/swisstopo/en/home/products/maps/leisure/hiking/hiking_50.html

Price per one paper map is 22.50 CHF!! We set really low provision for us to make these maps as cheap as possible. So it looks still a lot lot better, then paper maps if I compute correctly.

Yes, it´s not against the Locus team.
Whole Switzerland map with 247 sheets costs 3458,- CHF (~3.365,-€)

jusc were quicker then me. The zoom level=15 contains the same "image" as swisstopo national 1:25 000 plus the hiking paths. So the price of the maps in Locus app is much more cheaper then official paper maps from Swisstopo

hmm, then I should only hope that I computed price in LoCoins correctly :)

http://www.toposhop.admin.ch/en/shop/products/maps/smmobile

For 38 swiss francs, complete map, 1 year
So in essence we are paying 683 EUR only to have the map in locus instead of the swiss topo app?
I hope I missed something..

I have to say that the price looks really competitive! On the other hand it is default app from swisstopo, so it's expected that they offer some good price in their official app. Unfortunately we're limited by the price that swisstopo uses for third party application. On the other hand it seems that this subscription you need to renew every year and also it depends if you're satisfied with simple map viewer app or want to use Locus features above swisstopo maps.

"competetive"?  ;D

Well the difference would allow to renew it for 18 years
Since the benefit of the swiss topo is it's detail, it's mainly used to look up things.
For navigation/guidance/calculation you might as well use OSM and not notice a big difference.

So for me it's kind of hard to justify this price.
