I just read, that Amazon gives away some apps for free. So I would like to know if Locus would work on Kindle Fire systems?
The apps that Amazon gives away for free are not just for Kindle Fire, they are for any and all Androids. Sometimes you can get something worthwhile that way. I guess it's an attempt to promote their own App Store, which doesn't really stand much of a chance against the Google Play store.
It seems to be possible.

Be aware that, as far as i know, not all versions of the kindle fire have GPS.
Oh, thank you for this hint. At the moment I´dont own an amazon tablet. So it´s better to wait for next generation.
