Recently my vector maps does not show the sea. It is just white, like the land.
I think that some other things doesnt show to.
I have tried different themes. Both the build in and som external. Same problem.
Samsung galaxy note 3
Android 4.4.2
it depends of the map you loaded. Where did your map come from?
It's from different sites. But they all used to work fine.
I will find the links and put them here.
Erikbreum - if there are any issue with sea, it's in most cases issue in map itself and not in Locus.
If you use maps that do not come directly from Locus (Locus Store), please try these maps in any other application as well.
If in this app maps will have same problems, then please contact creator of these maps! Thank you
Thx for the quick answer.
One of the places I get maps from is:
http://www.vectormaps4locus.eu/content/vector-maps
The same problem occurs i Orux, So that may not be a Locus problem. But maybe others have a solution or information.
I think the problem then can be several places.
The map file. But they used to work.
Android version.
Phone
But there must be others than me that uses these map on an Note3, android 442
Please find another source for maps ...
On mentioned page are maps for more then two years old.
And same with newer maps from
Download.mapsforge.org/maps
I can confirm that new maps fom Mapsforge (version 0.5 devel ) have white sea. :D
You should try maps from Locus store or from OpenAndroMaps.org.
The for the quick response.
Finding out that it was not only on my phone was a relief.
And thx for the solution too.
Although both the older Vectormaps4Locus and the new Mapsforge maps have white sea with the standard themes, my "Voluntary" theme has (admittedly imperfect) workarounds for this that may be of interest.
Voluntary Theme (http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=2915.0)
John,
can you try it please with maps from http://download.mapsforge.org/maps/europe/?
I just loaded the voluntary theme, but white sea.... :(
How odd. Sometimes the sea appears and sometimes not. Try zooming in and then out. But I'm getting the same behaviour from Locus internal themes and Elevate and Voluntary on Mapforge's Great Britain.

Strangely I get white sea for the Mapsforge maps on my emulated tablet but not on my phone.
Furthermore I now find the render declaration line in the original themes apparently now includes two keys that are new to me and not included in other custom themes as far as I can see:
locus-extended="1" fill-sea-areas="0"
in
<rendertheme xmlns="http://mapsforge.org/renderTheme" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://mapsforge.org/renderTheme ../renderTheme.xsd" locus-extended="1" fill-sea-areas="0" version="1" map-background="#f8f8f8">
These prevent artefacts in the sea area on my emulated tablet.
Ok, old topic, but not resolved for me. I'm using maps downloaded from sources listed and a variety of themes but sea fails.

Two images, one from c:geo which at least has a coastline, the other from Locus using Voluntary Uk. No coast. Any ideas?

Edit, those screen shots v were from the "England" cut. Full GB works fine, is this down to unclosed polygons in the England cut?
Just tried with latest England map, latest Voluntary theme and latest Locus and sea shows for me. (http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161015/f170a94f485f2c92a0a6256b8fe63003.jpg)
Ah. My bad. I was sure I had that April 2016 England version but for some reason I had an earlier one. Not sure what happened there.
Anyway, thanks for the theme, a very good UK style with nice scale thresholds. Something I've struggled with at work using esri/OS vector map & mastemap, also I appreciate how much effort it takes.
