Title: Docu for OpenAndroMaps
Post by: kech61 on December 29, 2013, 11:05:07
Hi,

I'v published the basic settings (Tag-Transform, TagMapping) of the OpenAndroMaps to make live easier for everyone.
(you have probably seen this already)

Last weeks there I added numerous tags and transforms to OAM so the section contain a changelog too.

Best regards,
Christian

Hi Christian,

thank you for this. I´m working often on the themes for OpenAndroMaps for the Locus app an implemented most of the tags you described already. But I´m not satisfied with the hiking solution, because I want to implement more symbols to the hiking trails.
So I would like to ask, if it is possible to make it easier for theme creator and divide the cycle maps from hike maps?
I try to add symbols for the "Jacobs way" while using the "refs", but because some thecycle refs are shown too in the hike theme it´s hard to find. And there are a lot of  different "refs" for the "Jacobs way".  ;D

Hi Jusc,

I know this issue have to be resolved,
same for the webpage design, the installation videos, themesync, rreworking OAM-Themes,aso... ;-)

In March a big projekt for a customer (not mapping related) will come to an end - this will leave more resources for the OAM-project.

As we dicussed earlier I still hate the way OSMC is implemented in OSM and it will add a lot of overhead to both maps and Themes, however its the best implementation we have so far.
I have to check too if this stuff (overlaying transparent pngs) is working in generic Mapsforge...
A collision detection for the labels would be nice too (I had this for the hike/cycle nodes and it took ages to process).
