Title: text distance is feet but spoken is yards...?
Post by: UKlocusfan on September 26, 2013, 15:17:42
I have the 'Length Units' set to Imperial (ft/mil) feet and miles and this is working fine for the readouts onscreen as I want my distances whilst navigation to be in feet.

The problem I have is the voice is reading things out in 'yards'

Is the speech output always in yards no matter what please?

Thanks.

Did you check the settings in locus/data/tts/en?????.tts ?
Maybe you need to replace yards with feet.
If this is the case, Menion should improve the system.

Thanks Tommi.

I checked that file and found 2 references to 'yards' - but nothing for 'feet'.

It is calculating the feet and yards acurately - the problem is that my screen tells me feet and the navigation voice reads out the distance in yards.

:-(

ah yes, values should be read and displayed correctly, but as you wrote, Locus TTS miss words for "feets" units. I'll try to keep this in my mind and improve TTS support in near future

Thanks menion - that would be great - putting 'feet' in the talking would be superb!   :D
