Title: What is the difference between Vector maps and normal maps?

What is the difference between Vector maps and Normal maps? What is better? I would pay for maps with better zoom functionality.

Hi ivolino,
- vector maps typically need much less space compared to raster maps for the same amount of information
- therefore vector maps usually support all zoom levels 0-22
- vector maps for Locus use openstreetmap as source (at least I'm not aware of any other vector maps for Locus)

On the other hand raster maps exist for many different purposes and therefore may be better for a specific need.

- openandromaps.org
- Freizeitkarte easyclasspage.de/maps/seite-2.html (Beta)

Try it and find out what fits best to your needs, there is no simple "best map".

I am new with map use on Android and also Android itself. So far I just used Garmin devices and Nokia but so far I am very happy. What can be better on a raster map?
Do  Locus shop, openandromaps.org and Freizeitkarte easyclasspage use openstreetmap as source ?

Locus Store and OpenAndromaps use Open Street Maps as source, don't know what the Freizeitkarte uses

Ok now I found out that Freizeitkarte also uses Open Street Maps as source. So all maps have the same source. Freizeitkarte seems to have Germany as main topic. OpenAndromaps and Locus Store have maps for the whole world. What is the main focus of OpenAndromaps and Locus Store maps? Where is the difference?

ivolino, what about reading the stuff I've written (source osm) and on the related websites?
Read especially the info about the map legends, which is available for all three of them.
