Title: Dashboard variables Satellites (All) and Altitude (pressure)
Post by: tommi on March 24, 2013, 16:35:33
Hi Menion,
in dashboards there are two variables available which are forced to 0 while GPS not yet in sync though their values are available and useful:
- Satellites (All): Though GPS isn't in sync one can see e.g. 10 satellites (like in the GPS screen)
- Altitude (based on pressure sensor): Though GPS isn't in sync one can see the altitude measured by pressur sensor
Please enable these values also while GPS isn't in sync. For the altitude by pressure sensor this would even make sense without GPS at all.

Menion,
don't know if it's feasible to fix this in Tuesday's release. I don't want to be responsible for a failure in this bugfix release ;-)

hi tommi, satellites added, it was not a problem, but altitude is much worst. If you want to see altitude from pressure sensor when GPS is turned on, then it's not possible now, because pressure sensor is immediately turned off when not needed, so when GPS is also turned off

Ok, but at least better than currently would be to have pressure sensor values starting with GPS on and not only with GPS synced (like with satellites visible).

yes, this should be possible, just plans on next days are:
1. release versions without serious issues (max two days)
2. do some work for Peter on server so he can continue in some preparations (max three days)
3. again few weeks "free" so good time to work on current two major problems - altitudes and geocaching ;)
