Title: manual pages
Post by: Menion on March 07, 2011, 09:08:06
Hi guys,
look you all here are experienced users who after few minutes of fight, find out how all locus works. But not all users are like you, you know, so I after more and more emails, feel that there is need for some manual. I don't want to anyone write this for me. I just want to ask if you have idea which topic I have to cover in manual first. Or if you are not as experienced user, which topic you would like to have documented first for yourself.

Actually I created manual for "Creating POI categories" and "Simple way to map download". So what next ... aghh ... I really hate creating manuals :)

Good catch :-)

I started one (//https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LYy2NBrM1-SmBuh9kO3e97Bh41nmCj8wlZcp41nju_k/edit?hl=en_GB&authkey=COCCxq0G) but didn't want to tell you yet, until it was more or less finished :-)

I sometimes find it difficult to find new features, like Augmented Reality? Don't know about it...
So I think that it would be a good thing to describe the things that are a little hidden. You know, the "record" button is there, but what about the more hidden features?

Hmm nice :)

just a few tips for your manual mainly about rotation

compass toggle button in gps screen has two functions. When is enabled, map is rotated by internal hardware compass. When disabled, map is rotated by azimuth comming from GPS! (ideal for car for example)

also rotate button have three states.
No rotate - no background color
rotate by compass - yellow background
rotated by hand - green background

You're creating some "descriptive manual", it's very good. I already published two parts I wrote in first post here - http://locus.asamm.cz/?page_id=128 (http://locus.asamm.cz/?page_id=128). it's mainly for really noobs :)

and what next? Maybe something about adding points and importing ...
