Title: Conversion from sqlite points to new db-version not working
Post by: franc on November 10, 2012, 22:27:38
Hello

some days ago I noticed on my SGS2 (OS 2.3.5 root) that all my favorite points and all tracks where gone.
I didn't do anything with it, so I started to search and noticed that since about 27.10.2012 the automatic backups were nearly empty.
It must have been some Locus update in this time.
Indeed, there was a change of db-type from sqlite to something other.
I guess the conversion didn't work but I don't remember that I had to do this, might be automatically after the update.

Fortunately I backup the last three versions of my apps with titanium and I still had the version where the sqlite is used.
So I reverted to this, put the databasefavorites.sqll from the last good backup back and exported the favorites (as gpx).
I reinstalled the actual version and imported now the gpx favorites.
But from 54 favorites only about 30 were imported.

Is there a way to import the old databasefavorites.sqll completly into an actual Locus Pro app?
I didn't find this problem here in the forum but I think I cannot be the only one with this issue.

the best/safest way is to upload the files and inform Menion.
tell him the link to your files.
Im sure he will convert and send back your db

I firstly suggest to just re-install new Locus version. After start, you should get offer to conversion. Otherwise as gynta wrote, send me all Locus/data/*.sqll files and I'll convert it for you

No, this is not working, but I tried this before some times.
No I did it like this:
1. I made a backup in Titanium
2. I uninstalled Locus Pro in Titanium
3. I reinstalled Locus Pro in Titanium but only the app, not the data
4. I opened Titanium and I still have the not completely imported favorites (39 instead of 56)

I will send my sqll to you by mail, I don't know what is the problem here.

By the way, why is this change from sqlite to some (for me unknown) database?
I can open and read Sqlite, but I don't know how to open this new db-files...

hmm no problem with conversion on my device :/ ... I've send you email with new databases

and difference? Both are SQLite databases, so I'm sure you'll be able to open it. Main differences are in way how data are stored
