it would be nice to have a simulation-mode, so I could test my own (or play another) cartidge with wheryougo like in the emulator

Hmm,
I'm not sure how to set simulation mode for cartridge developer and not allow "basic" users use it. If you really need to do some tests with your cartridge, I maybe should create for you time limited testing version which also I'm using, that allow you to move with map in same way as GPS move...
