Title: 2 GB limit of (downloaded) maps
Post by: tramp20 on July 05, 2012, 05:43:57
Hi menion,
I wanted to download missing tiles in a existing SQL map.
The download stopped later because the map had reached the 2 GB limit. But now Locus refuses to load this map and I had to delete it (of course I had a backup).

Please could you change this behavior and stop the download *before* the 2 GB limit has been reached?
Without a backup I would be very angry to begin the download again.

You should update your phone to Android 4.0.x. At least a rmap (3,7GB) is running perfectly and even fast.

it's not solution in this case. Locus have hardcoded 2GB limit for SQLite maps, but as tramp discovered, notification is not soon enough to prevent this ... I'll try to fix it

EDIT: oki, now should downloading stop when it "1.999 * 1024 * 1024 * 1024"kb :)

Any news on that issue ? I guess that the android 2gb limit could be ignored at least on devices running on ICS or newer.

is this new 4GB limit really valid on all A4.X devices? Can I be sure with it?
