9.12.2011 - Locus 1.14.6.7fixed version 1.14.6.6, so read news below. Here is fixed rotation of map and also added ability to load openair space waypoints
9.12.2011 - Locus 1.14.6.6another bugged version just for you ...
for my big surprise, after whole day, I was able to rewrite complete background that handle map panning, zooming, etc. And app still works ... :), anyway - result seems to be another small speed benefit, but MAINLY, finally, perfectly working TAR maps and also removed some calibration issues on maps that had some rotation in calibration. Currently are supported coordinate systems, that I already have home in some maps, so UTM, Mercator. So to everyone, if you have any TAR map, try it! If map will not work, send me it and I'm sure it will work ... finally ...
- improved TAR maps handling! (more above)
- new feature in Locus API
- fixed issues with quick "Add route feature" - here viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1386 (http://forum.asamm.cz/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1386)
- fixed broken BreadCrumbs support
- hmm and many other fixes and improvements, I think that you don't care a lot :).
damn, it's fast now ... :)
EDIT: ah I almost forget. You may also try legal implementation of Google maps. It's quite funny :) ... but with some improvements, should work
EDIT2: already know thanks to gynta, about issue during rotation, so ignore please map rotate for now. I'm already working on it ...
8.12.2011 - Locus 1.14.6.5... so let's continue with improvements
- quick track create - discuss here viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1386 (http://forum.asamm.cz/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1386)
- better labels system. All items labels are now draw at top. They're also little bit faster, limited at low zoom, limited to 100 (otherwise show small title "Too much labels", integrated this feature viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1379 (http://forum.asamm.cz/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1379)
- hopefully removed crash bug when zooming and panning at once
- many small fixes, as usually, enjoy
... REMOVED DUE TO LOT OF ISSUES ...
6.12.2011 - Locus 1.14.6.2Uff, I'm dead ... this is hardcore testing version. Thanks to started adding support for another maps, I started rewrote a lot of code that already worked quite well. Hmm, not all works now so well :). Anyway this is testing version,
working as Pro version till end of year, so enjoy. Also please, report every issue you discover mainly on functions that worked before
- support for RMAP format - viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1377 (http://forum.asamm.cz/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1377), hmm Joeloc, should you be interested in some small post on Locus blog with some info about this format? Mainly how can user create map in this format and maybe where can anyone obtain any interesting maps? (if they're at least little bit legal) ...
- thanks to this topic - viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1379 (http://forum.asamm.cz/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1379), and also changes due to RMAP and many coordinate systems support, I completely rewrote initializing and drawing of tracks and POIs. After some test, all is around 20% faster. Also is there few optimizations that improve speed at some zooms. Dark side is one new issue. When I play a lot with, let's say 10k points on map, after a while (different time), Locus crash on some android system error. So without warning it just disappear. Quite nice ... and even after few hours, mistake not found. So nice program for tomorrow
- also check new style for displayed tracks .. do you like it?
- now fully working support for Aero overlays, this topic viewtopic.php?f=21&t=1353 (http://forum.asamm.cz/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=1353)
- hope that finally solved problem with touching on items when map rotate
- also disable lock screen should finally work correctly (so disabled when app close)
- some other small improvements and bug fixes .. .
- and finally, don't forget to support locus on facebook here http://www.facebook.com/locusmap (http://www.facebook.com/locusmap) . I don't like facebook a lot, but to be true, it's nice place where to quickly post some interesting news ...

Locus 1.14.0.1:
- Is't Locus Pro ?
- Problem whatsapp to Locus fixed ?
Greetings
Gös
fixed but not published. I'm waiting for access to some weather data and I hope it will be tomorrow. So you have to wait till next release (as soon as possible). Sorry for that ...
Excuse my impatience. you are the master. I will learn patience.
I miss longingly active outdoor maps !?? News ?
:)
unfortunately not. I'm trying to communicate with everyone as much as possible but communicating with every bigger firm is sooooo long. With outdooractive, we're still trying to figure out system for distributing their maps. I really hope that for year (since spring) all will be ready
Quote from: "beonun"Thanks Menion!
I am so glad that waypoints of the track are imported as rte points in the version 1.14.1
So I can see top panel 'distance to next point'.... when I select 'Guide on' the track.
But waypoints of the track were not imported as points in 'Points' section. I can not see any points.
And if I want to add rte points to the track after importing the gpx, what can I do ?
As I know, on track navigation in Gamin device, eg. Oregon 550,
"For a waypoint to appear as on the track, it must be within 100 meters of a track segment. Specifically, it will be connected to the closest track segment"
So when I create a waypoint just on the track or, within 100 meters of the track, I can see the waypoint as a rte point.
Thanks again for your troubles !!!
What's in this version:
1. ** 1.14.2 *** 2. fixed issue with Parking service and Field notes screen
3. ** 1.14.1 *** 4. (PRO) new improvements to Weather screen (redesign, favorite places, 3-hour forecast for 7 days!) 5. added OS Irish Grid 6. (PRO) ability to set navigation volume 7. improvements on Parking service (redesign, remember last state when app crash, better set of location) 8. ability to import GPX trk together with wpts (one trk and X wpts in one file) 9. and many other improvements and fixes
_________
Thanks Menion - I can hear clearly now & the weather is nice here :-)
Cheers
Tom
I would even understand the need to pay a monthly fee or onetime fee for the use of outdooractive.com data. Or pay for a limited data amount transfered

Update to v1.5.0 breaks Google Maps. Restoring the previous version fixes Google Maps. Better make a backup before you update.

new testing version ...
so guys, more then 30 downloads and no feedback? Is new dialog for data import works for you and is clear enough? Everything works? fine :)

the new "scale resolution" is a nice idea
I read wrong and thought gc.com was already supported...
And too busy weeks sadly enough :-(

thanks gynta :) ... this is on more places in settings, not just here. Not sure if I can do something with it easy, I'll try anyway
Hi
The latest Pro version has changed the POI download action. When the POI file has been loaded the map zooms to the closest downloaded POI, full zoom in.
I liked the old behaviour better, downloading does not affect map position or zoom. If new action has been requested, then it is not a big problem, just a few extra "clicks" to get back.
On the other hand, the possibility to download directly from a web site is great!
Hi Stebu,
in "center and zoom" action is small mistake. Purpose is to center and zoom to set all imported data visible. Now if you import less then 100 points, it center and zoom to first point only. Will be improved in next version. And yes, I also think it's nice feature. Together with ability to remember old urls and only display data instead of import, it's nice. During yesterday and today I added support for GroundOverlays from KML so some photos over map are now also possible ;)
Quote from: "stebu"On the other hand, the possibility to download directly from a web site is great!
Or would be if it worked :!: :?:
On a 1072 point POI file (ZIP) I had to force close Locus. On a smaller file (40 POIs) Locus emptied the category, but did not add the new POIs.
Both files work when I download the zip files into a folder and then import from local file.
with this I cannot help, send me link to files and I'll check it ...
new version for testing ... with one nice feature ;)
Can you please check download possibility?

don't understand ... you mean map downloading? seems working for me ...
Nice ;) Network Link from FusionTables works without problems!
Thanks for supporting/fixing this feature!!!

problem fixed now (not in new testing version yet). It's because I do not extract zip files after download. Now it works correctly

Sorry, but the test version url does not work for me.
It's ok. With browser it works. Seems to be a problem with Tapatalk.

I am so happy to see the gc.com live api in this version!

I also have this issue when I try to download attachments here with Tapatalk...
Even with the new version in the Market
Hmm I see my mistake now. I allowed only 2 points for calibration anyway method I use for compute needs three. So add one more point and try again!
About GC Live, psst ... it's not yet official even it works with main gc web server ;)
about download, seems I have to update tapatalk plugin here on forum
With 3 it works fine, thanks for the tip.
Will test some more tomorrow.
This is gonna be a useful feature!
Oh,.. I it seems I made a mistake... I can't find the gc.com thing anymore ;-)
Hope you find time to update the plugin sometime, as it will make downloading test versions easier.
new version market. There is also some improvements on On-board calibration feature (map button if you define geographic coordinates) ... enjoy
guys, new testing version here. I'm more then interested in feedback ... mainly if you'll see any difference in map speed with displayed items (POI's, tracks, ...)
Hi,
first impression of 1.14.6.2. regarding tracks..:
it seems, that tracks are faster displayed (GalaxyTab), but it was not an issue before (to me).
but: what´s really great is the display of Startflag of the track, the popup of points incl. distances and heights and different colors for tracks - really like it !! Big improvment!
small issue: if you have a vector map, where the map itself is very "colorful" - the text popups are not good readable - I tried different colors but I think if the background of the popup would be opaque and not transparent, it would be better - otherwise too much of the map is visible.
I keep on testing...
regards
Rob
thanks Rob, I was also thinking about changing background a little. When you display this label, you're more interested in text then in map below so good readability it essential ... I'll do something with this
i switched from the android market version to Locus 1.14.6.2.
unfortunately, Locus 1.14.6.2 cannot find any of my raster maps in the locus/maps folder. it only works with vector maps ;-(
or am i doing anything wrong?
regards
bongo
nono, mistake is probably on my side. I'm currently rewriting part that handle TAR maps to bring better support for various map projections. In next test version, this will be fixed ...
new test version ... there is a lot of changes, but if all problems will be fixed, I think it's good progress since last release ... feedbacks are of course welcome. About map speed with POI's, also how you like better labels? Labels also have finally priority so they're draw on top of other map items, they're also hiding in low zooms, same with PO (they change to dot's) or tracks (they reduce number of visible points) and more and more that should quite a lot improve user experience .. hope you'll like it ...
Great, great, great! Planning a route works now really as a charm! Perfect!
Labels top readable, direction signs, Start, Ziel suuper!
Many thanks for this top improvements.
Small issues:
On a final route/track, it would be helpful to see the points where a popup will be shown, just as small rings as it is visible when moving over. Otherwise you have to "drive" along the route searching next point.
Once again my wish: if planning of route is finished, the menue for Category, description, etc. Pops up. Good, but here I expected a button: calculate/ download height. Than it would be really complete.
Congratulation menion!
haven't don a lot with 1.14.6.6. so far, but within 5 minutes, locus crashed 2 times when moving around a map with maximum zoom-out level.
i never had this effect before - but maybe it's by accident.
bongo please, every crash can be fixed when you send me crash log from CatLog (or other) program, so please next time, immediately after crash ... log please :) Thanks!
and Rob, I'll look at it tomorrow ...
so many updates - nice ;)
Since the last updates, the vector tiles will appear slower. (compared with the Pro)
Edit - tested again: its not worth mentioning
btw.
thx (again and again...)
:) there is always many updates, but not everytime are visible. Sometimes some work take really a lot of work and it isn't visible at all .. you know :)
about vector maps - this should really works as worked before, maybe you had some area you want already prerendered ... and thx is not needed, I thank you (and also others) for time you invest to this support! Without community here on forum, locus will be still only "map viewer" as was my first intent
ok, i installed catlog. don't know what i have to configure there. do i just have to have it installed and press save after a crash? or do i have to always have recording active?
but the best, after installing catlog, i moved around the map for almost half an hour, and locus didn't crash anymore ;-) so mabe, locus is afraid of the cat ;-)
hehe maybe it is :))
anyway when some error anytime happen, catlog do not have to run in record mode. Just simply start it after crash and simply save log from menu, that's all ..
