Title: 11556 and free version feature
Post by: ColdAutumn on May 03, 2026, 14:52:15
I'm encountering the same 11556 issue. Even after installing the latest version 4.33.0, I'm still getting error 11556, and the software won't start at all. Since I don't have any data in the new software yet, I've opted to uninstall and reinstall it.

My next question is:
1,How do I manually import all the data from my previous/classic version step by step? My previous versions included many points, tracks, calibrated maps, some map items and online tile map configuration files that I created myself.
2,Are the features mentioned in the previous point supported in the free version? Or do I have to subscribe first? Of course, I actually bought the classic version in the past.

Hello,
sorry for a late response.

Have you already removed the application, so the data are lost now? Error 11556 usually means a serious problem with points/tracks database, but it can usually be fixed if the user is able to connect the phone to a PC and manually copy data out of the app directory.

Your questions:
1. usually the easiest way is to create a full backup in the Locus Classic version and import this backup into a fresh version of Locus Map.
2. all what you wrote will work. Only what will need a Silver Premium is the internal calibration tool. MapItems will work without limits.

If there will be anything I may help with, please let me know.

Thank you for your reply. I tried to upgrade to Locus 4 again via Locus Classic but failed. I encountered the same 11556 error, which makes the app completely unusable. It seems that I have to uninstall it and the app data can't be retained during uninstallation.
I have also upgraded to a Silver Premium.

I have a huge number of points and tracks, and I'm not sure if that's the reason.

Since Locus 4 will continue to be upgraded, while classic may stop being updated altogether, I estimate that this problem may persist for a long time. Furthermore, each user's data and custom directories may be completely different, especially since different mobile phones and system software versions are also different.

So, could you provide a guide on manually transferring this data? Because it's been used for so long, I don't even fully remember what data and personal settings I have; I only remember some of my most important data, which includes at least:
1, points
2, tracks
3, Calibrated maps etc, include all Map items( In Locus 4, it seems that Map items are no longer available?)
4, I also have my own online map configuration file, and I don't know if Locus 4 supports it directly.
5, I also downloaded global altitude data.
6, There are also several huge offline map files.

So, could you please provide a manual transfer guide? Many thanks.

btw, I found that OsmAnd can almost freely search local map data, a feature not supported in the classic version. Also, OsmAnd's local data processing seems to be very fast. I look forward to these details being improved in the future.

Hi,
hmm Locus Classic already have a migration solution inside the main menu, so use it if needed.

I can also help with fixing the data if you already did a migration to Locus Map 4. It is just needed to have a phone connected to the PC and being able to copy&paste data from system /Android/data/menion.android.locus/files/Locus/data/database . Here are stored the points&tracks databases I may try to fix with some tools on my PC.
