sorry for the troubles. This error is quite a general problem that informs about unknown problem with the internet connection. Have you tried simply restarting your phone? No other app has a problem with the connection?

I am trying since sometime, I restarted my phone and tried on several devices without success.
With other APSS there are no problems with the Internet connection vi WLAN.
As I have enough data volume on my SIM-Card I tried it over mobile data download. France North stopped after 1 GB of 2 GB and Germany South after 1 GB of 1 GB. I enclose a screen shot.
Is there a link for a direct download from a web side and then copying the files to the Locus Folder.
Additional Information, may be helpful, my map folder is in local storage/android/media...
Sometimes I receive a network error when trying to connect to the forum or Locus Map Help desk.
Open please the app and long-press on the main app menu button. You should get a dialogue with the "Report bug" button.
After pressing, app packs some internal errors into a zip file and sends it simply to locus.map@asamm.com email. Best with text "For Menion, forum 9566". Thanks a lot. Hopefully, there will be a visible reason of this issue.
