Years ago, I bought two maps for hiking. If I remember right, I made a backup of it. I have two files - .info and .sqlitedb for that map.
On my new phone, I installed Locus Map and imported the file from Android\media\menion.android.locus\maps. The import process asks me to confirm the name. After that, the name was listed in Offline tab (Maps).
I restarted the app and then selected the map. I can see blank with "Map of this area is not available". What can be wrong? I move up, down, and check distances from the current point, so I'm sure of the covered area. It didn't help.
UPDATE: I can't remember when I bought the map, but it was years ago. Were there any changes that can affect this?
I tried to download the same map again from the store, but it wants me to pay again.
Hello,
in the case of purchased maps, it is necessary to satisfy two conditions:
- install the map together with "info" file. This file is necessary to verify the license
- log in with the identical account (in the Locus Map) you used to purchase the map
Thank you.
I'm sure that both conditions are met.
1. I have just checked again, and there are both files (.info and .sqlitedb). Beside them, one more file appeared (.sqlitedb-journal).
2. I'm logged in with the same username as years ago. It is my only password for Locus map stored in a password manager, and I can log in on my new phone.
Hmm, one more check .. you wrote you see "Map of this area is not available". As I see in the app code, you should see "Access denied" if the app won't be to load map tiles from the map. So it looks like you are really in the area where the map does not have coverage. Please double-check this as well, thanks.
Well, I'm only a few kilometers from the covered area. On my old phone, I can see the map if I move there.
On my new phone, I can see two errors:
- Map of this area is not available
- Unknown problem (I didn't see that yesterday, probably I was in the covered area).
I attached screenshots from both phones.
