I'm using Locus Map Classic 3.70.16, registered as Pro in 2015. Device is a Samsung A52 with Android 14, not rooted.
I noticed that Locus occupied around 18 GB of space of my internal card. As I'm using offline cards, I was expecting a noticable local usage but not to that extent.

My offline cards (UK, Belgium and Germany North from OpenAndroMaps) summed up to ~5-6 GB. After deleting them, Android still showed 11-12 GB data in use.

(Disregard the difference between DiskUsage value and the Android values)
Clearing all data via the settings did not remove that data.

How can I find out what those 11-12 GB are and how do I get rid of them? Is this residue from aborted downloads?
Suggestions are appreciated how to clean this up. Thank you.

Look into it with a file manager, preferably one that can display directory sizes? Or is doing the most natural thing impossible meanwhile (on Googles mission to deliver tge best IOS experience)?

I tried that already but Total Commander does not show me that content from your screenshot.
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data only shows some kind of links to the apps. In case of Locus it is
-> ///_data_menion.android.locus.pro.

Yeah, you're right. Google is protecting us from ourselves. I think I found something in TC forum regarding this: Android 14 and lost access to /Android/data (https://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=80230)
Sigh. I need to check this maybe tomorrow.

I found the data in question vis Marc Files in
/Android/data/menion.android.locus.pro/files/Locus/mapsVector:

It contains
*.osm.poi and
*.osm.db files of all the maps I had ever installed, also the already removed ones. There's also two
*.zip.tmp files that look like aborted downloads to me.
Note: There are no points in my Locus. I'm referring to the POI databases.

Since the only currently installed map is Germany North, I would expect all other data to be removed when I use the Map Manager in Locus.
In Locus, I haven't found how to properly remove those files. Is there another way to remove those files than using the file manager?

empty now, and sorry I didn't provide more details, but Locus can place all its files in /media rather than /data, and as a result file manager programs are able to display/ move/ delete/ copy these files. It may be worth investigating.
Openandromaps are third party so you cannot blame Locus for not removing the .poi and .db files when you remove the vector map via the Locus menu.
Our highest Android 14 is still very accessible via a windows 10 laptop and an usb cable.
And yes, Google is a pain in the ...

Oh! Now that you mention it, I remember that. Years ago I used to have data located on the external SD card, most probably for disk usage reasons. But moving to a different phone with a different Android version and new restrictions added by Google, I think I stuck with the internal storage which was large enough now. And then I forgot about that.
Data is already moving to

I am aware that OAM are third party maps but my expectation was that a map will be handled as a bundle. Which is not the case as I understand from you.
I'll clean up by myself then after moving to
media (which is easier for me than via PC and USB cable). Thank you too for this insight.

Locus Map correctly delete map file + supported database file. "osm.poi" is not file supported by Locus Map. Anyway I've improved deletion of maps, so these files will be deleted as well in the next Locus Map 4 app version.
