Title: External GPS-receiver
Post by: DoppelHans on April 27, 2025, 12:42:16
I'm looking for a simple bluetooth GPS-receiver but only can find more advanced bycicle, or car-receivers.

I would like to attach them outside the rucksack during hicking trips and leave my mobile phone inside the bag.

Which simple (like a GPS-mouse) GPS-receiver could I use with Locus Map?

Thx

Hi,
external GNSS was a necessary piece of hardware few years ago. These days, GPS battery consumption in phones is not so bad and it is usually better to take powerbank with me, than deal with another hardware.

So I personally do not have a good tip for you, but any "GPS mouse" with BT3 should work for sure. Devices based on Bluetooth 4+ should work as well, but it is not 100% guaranteed and needs to test.
