is there anywhere the option to controle the music directly in the locus app? I'm just thinking about next or previous song, stop and play and maybe the to show the song title (e.g that is played in the background by Spotify)

If you're looking to control music playback directly from the Locus app, I'm afraid that's not possible. However, you can use the Locus Map for Garmin extension to control music playback on your smartphone. It's my way.
If they are traveling by bike they can use a controller. The control unit can also be removed from the holder. When hiking you can stick it to the backpack or with Velcro.
