Title: Map Calibration
Post by: mntr86 on July 27, 2023, 10:42:29
Dear all, Is there a possibility to calibrate maps from JPG files and save in sqlite/Rmap format? I would like to be able to view them directly as maps and not as an overlay object (kmz file). The alternative would be to use specific software to convert them but you would need a pc.

Hello
map itself is not able to do this. Only KMZ format is supported.

The best tool as I know is most probably mapc2mapc. Older, by we internally still use it for most of our map-manipulations.

Ok, thank you for your reply, moreover, I noticed that the graphic quality of the .kmz file is definitely lower than the original jpg file. I currently use okmap to calibrate raster maps, it would have been very useful to be able to do this directly with an android app, but I haven't found any app that allows this.

Lower, really? Interesting. Are you willing to share with me original and calibrated files? I would like to look at it, thanks!
