Title: Since Marshmallow I can't use offline map Sqlitedb stored in SDcard
Post by: Thierry on September 16, 2016, 13:37:00
Hi,
I've just switched from Lollipop to Marshmallow Android version and from now I can't use any offline card Sqlitedb located in my SDcard. Before doing that all was working well.
Each time we change of Android version there is always an issue by using map on SDcard. It's really a nightmare to succeed in using Locus and external maps.

In offline parameter I choose "External Maps", I see my maps but I can just remove them.
What's going on ?
Thierry

There was a change in naming convention. Now external SDs typically come with a number in the path. Just go to map management, use the Add function, traverse upwards until you see internal SD and other file systems (typically under /storage). Then take the device with the number and navigate to your map folder.

This is NOT in Settings but the Maps screen
Maps > Offline tab
(+) Blue plus button
Choose External maps
Select directory

Alternatively, use Settings > Miscellaneous and set the directory for vector maps
This way isn't supposed to be so good but I don't know why.

thank john_percy but that's what I did
Maps > Offline tab
(+) Blue plus button
Choose External maps ...

but when I do that I see my Sqlitedb maps but I can just remove them and if I want to add it again by selecting a new files or directory it's still the same.
I put a screenshot to precise my issue

a few questions to your installation for better understanding ;)
-- menu/settings/miscellaneous/Default directories/set root directory
which is marked "sdcard" or "storage /emulated/android menion..."

-- menu/settings/miscellaneous/Default directories/Advanced/Set mapsVector directory
you see "default" or "storage/7755-592A/......
