Title: Lagging while viewing/updating geocaches/folders
Post by: Patrik Sistik on April 11, 2014, 08:35:58
Ahoj Menion. Since the new pointscreen has been introduced I experience significant lagging (sometimes blackscreen) while:
-clicking on a geocache
- saving a geocache from live map
- clicking on already saved geocache
- entering a folder with geocaches
- applying filters to geocaches.

I just wonder whether this behavior is something what also others experience, or it is caused purely on my device: Samsung Galaxy Ace2 with Android 2.3.6

Hello Patrik,

these problems were there in first version of this screen, but in latest 2.20.2 version of Locus, all major issues should be already solved. Do you have this latest version on your device?

Hmm, seems that new screen is more complex that I though. Anyway I'm testing it on very old HTC Wildfire with 2.3.7 and even that load of cache took around 2 seconds, there are absolutely no black screens during loading of some big lagging. Did you tried to hide a map overview? It should help a little. Otherwise hard to say. Without device in my hands, it's very complicated to do something with such problems. I also spend more then few days on optimizing of this screen, so there is not a lot I can do now.

Only problem that is known for me now, is that locus is slowing a little after hard usage during a few hours, that may in the end leads to crash. I still do not know why this happen, but it will be connected to open/close of this new screen. Maybe it should happen to you a lot sooner then after few hours. I'll of course try to find why this happen and fix it to next version.
